While http://amiga.resource.cx is down..

I snapped a mirror of the site earlier and set up a script on my webserver, so whenever http://amiga.resource.cx is down, you can reach it from http://grandis.nu:81/AmigaResource/a...esource.cx/exp

As soon as it comes back up, that link stops working again and tells you to go to the original page instead, and vice versa (checks every 15 minutes).

Nobody seems to know who is running the page, so I have not heard back about it being OK or not.

Well done, it'd be a real shame to lose amiga.resource.cx! :D

I hope it'll get back soon :great

It's sad because amiga.resource.cx is one of the best sites for Amiga hardware together with BBoAH, but most of the time is down. Who is responsible, anyone knows?

thals was the EAB contact for the Amiga Hardware Database, but he hasn't visited here since 22nd November 2009. :(

@Turran: PM me if you would like to know more.

Phantom 03 August 2013 22:43

So thals is hosting the site you mean?

I really don't have a specific answer to that question. :sad

However, in the period leading up to his last activity on EAB, he was accepting contributions (manuals, photos, etc.) to the Amiga Hardware Database via email and they would find their way onto the database.

So, if he wasn't actually hosting the site, then he was at least a member of the team responsible for maintaining and updating it.

Phantom 03 August 2013 23:21

I guess that we must find the rest of the team? At least the guy that hosting this site, if he has problems to continue for whatever reason, we can continue or give a hand somehow.

I know this is a super-old thread, however it appears to have gone down again :(

PZ.

lilalurl 22 May 2014 17:39

Try again. It seems to work fine for me.

Fingerlickin_B 24 May 2014 03:51

Yeah, fine now :)

hawkeye 03 June 2021 18:45

It is down for several days now.... has anyone an idea it will come online again? Is there any mirror available?

Tomislav 04 June 2021 12:15

It's not down. Home page is empty. Search don't work. If you search with some search engine (like google, duckduckgo, ...) some pages exists, like Amiga models (http://amiga.resource.cx/models.html).

Matt_H 04 June 2021 17:07

There's some sort of massive server/database problem; all links beyond some basic HTML pages are broken. It would be a shame to permanently lose such a valuable resource. Do we know who the admin is / who can we help?

zipper 04 June 2021 18:48

You can reach it via Wayback, can't get the support email yet. http://web.archive.org/web/202104141...a.resource.cx/

Thanks for this tip!

07-JUNE-2021 Still down, Bummer! Tried to mirror the site last time it was working, but to no avail.

SunSpire 08 June 2021 18:20

You can find three different contact email addresses (and the author names) for the site within the archive.org pages (in the "About" section), two of them from 2006 and the latest one from 2017 (before it was replaced with the "Click to show email" button, which does not work).

So I guess the 2017 email contact is your best bet. I won't post them here directly for privacy reasons but you can easily look them up :)

Firthy2002 10 June 2021 22:18

I noted that it hadn't been updated for some time before it went down. I hope whoever was maintaining it hasn't lost interest.
