Amiga 1200T : PCMCIA Not working (3Com) : Help please
Hi there, I am trying to get back in to Amiga so I treated myself to a right angle PCMCIA adapter so I could use my 3Com network card with my A1200T
First of I got the card working with my normal A1200 (4MB memory + flash, WB 3). Card works fine :) Green light comes on. For the love of god I cant get it to work in my Tower, no GREEN light ever! I have a A1200T with a Blizzard IV 030 50, 16MB ram. WB 3.1(roms), a internal IDE thingy that allows me to run 2 HD + CDROM. I also believe I have SilverSurfer Serial thing to. I have literally tried everything CardPref (or whatever it calls) shows a 3Com card (designed for memory cards) I have installed AmiTCP exactly how I have it on my other machine. comes up with a Asl.library in use error by another device? I have cardreset (force and TICK 50) and cardpatch in startup I have tried pulling and pushing it back in I have tried running the A1200 with only 1 drive incase of power issues I have tried the little jumper on the Blizzard to copy rom in to ram I have tried copying the asl.library from the other machine but that broke other stuff I get cant open device or unit 0 |
Hello,
I have the same 3com card on my Tower and it works perfectly. Have you tried to put a CF through a pcmcia2cf adapter in the right angled adapter to check if it works? |
I am buying one now mate, maybe my port is dead

Have you tried the pcmcia software reset fix?

Are 3c589.device and pccard.library installed? Does modemtest work (find it on Aminet)?

I had problems running cards with these drivers. In the end I sold them, I couldn't be bothered.
I never knew if the cards got faulty or something, but my PCMCIA port runs fine with card readers so I am assuming it isn't faulty. |
