You don't have to keep it in such a small window. Make it cover the Workbench..

Window mode, and Full Screen iF you use Triple Buffer. Double Buffer results in a lot of black line "bugs?".

You're using Software mode. Enable Hardware..it's quicker...and looks much better. Then you'll see the "voodoo" or buffer bugs I've been typing about.

Looks like it simply runs as fast as possible. Could be normal behavior and some vsync/frame limiter option needs to be enabled.

Runs at correct speed here also. Hmm..vsync frame limiter...

@AC/DC HACKER!
thanks for the advice

-Aquaria works well
I must also add that apart from games, surely an additional piece for using 4.1FE, the ultimate goal is to have a system that works with applications (especially applications).
Having never had amiga systems with a dedicated graphics card or used wos applications, I have little experience in this.
Quake etc. they are beautiful to see in gl on amiga for satisfaction but they end there.
Applications, demos to see etc. are the point I use 4.1 for
currently these also work with uaegfx but I hope that the voodoo3 gives a further boost on the speed of running applications and that the voodoo3 adds video quality as I have seen so far.

I hope someone will contribute to the application test for 4.1FE as is the case with games. :-)

IMHO Main goal archived by adding voodoo3 support to Winuae is related to AmigaOS 4.
I really hope Toni will concentrate on this.
It could be the best amiga ever seen.
@White even if I own a real amiga hardware your work is much appreciated, thanks a lot.
@Toni great job as always!

No.

EDIT: I don't see much need for any specific OS4 support. It already works as far as I can see. Debugging is always 1000x easier with m68k AOS.

White 01 January 2021 09:55

@fl@sh
Thanks I'm glad your appreciation.
Actually everything works on the applications side the games are apart with wazp3d the real gl is never supported like with the voodoo card for example. (uaegfx)
with the new emotion 1.9 update it is now possible to watch videos on youtube and also launch a video at the same time without slowdowns.
Currently voodoo is working well it is not perfect yet but it works is a bit like the old amiga systems must always be patched to find the right compromise.

I was trying to figure out if it was possible to re-flush libraries without rebooting to use with warp3d when needed but I don't know if this is possible.

- Quake GL works perfectly without using Rewarp with native libraries
with the executable present on osdepot:
http://os4depot.net/share/game/fps/glquake.lha
multitexturing support must be disabled (otherwise the screen flickers).
All other effects can be enabled.
There is a small inconvenience any resolution I choose even 1024x768 16bit the screen is not filled completely even if it works fine.
any suggestions?

Thanks

White 04 January 2021 11:06

now with the new beta of the day quakeGL works perfectly at all resolutions in this case 1024x768

AMIGASYSTEM 04 January 2021 11:44

Thanks Paul nice video, I will do some tests on OS3 too

Seiya 04 January 2021 12:13

i have a full installation of OS4.1u2. I tried everything, but voodoo3 is not detected. If i try to reinstall with voodoo3, OS4 don't start or crash or guru.

White 04 January 2021 14:49

Today I prepare a video on the installation of 4.1FE for the very complete voodoo3 update1 update2 network sound etc.
I hope that many more people approach 4.1FE the tests would be faster and more diversified I many times jump from one test to another because I try the complete compatibility.
I would like to make a script that switches from Rewarp to native libraries without rebooting. I don't know if this is possible, it would be useful for application compatibility.
For example Rewarp doesn't work with quakeGL but it works with native libraries.
While the DemoPPC are compatible with Rewarp and not with native libraries.
I hope it is useful and that someone has suggestions

White 04 January 2021 18:08

I made a video on how to install 4.1FE with update1 & 2 including network and audio setup.
In this case the installation is based on the Voodoo 3 graphics card
The video also includes the creation of the .hdf and the configuration of winuae from scratch is the increase of the ram and also included a simple test of warp3D the steps are simple just follow them.
It is advisable to make a backup copy at the end of the installation of your .hdf (it will be useful later)
Later you can start from this installation to do all the tests and add the one you like best.
The packages used are:

update1
update2
sb128 (audio driver sound blaster)
warp3d 4.2a

and other upgrades available like aiss mixer etc.

Here I added the mickJT-mplayer and Odyssey configuration so you can watch videos and surf the web this can be useful to test your processor how it can handle amigaos4.1FE
here the links:

http://kas1e.mikendezign.com/aos4/odyssey_betas/
choose beta07
here the spoffing to use and shown in the video how to do it:
Mozilla/5.0(BB10; Touch) AppleWebKit/537.10 + (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/10.0.9.2372 Mobile Safari/537.10 +

and here mickJT-mplayer and mplayerGUI to see the videos locally in the video the right configuration:
http://os4depot.net/share/video/play/mplayer-mickjt.lha
http://os4depot.net/share/video/misc/mplayer-gui.lha

and all installed by default without any optimization the card used and always Voodoo 3 etc.
I hope it is useful for testing

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iH-foJc4oh0

separate notes:
the videos and navigation are smooth but when I register the speed it is reduced.
I need to find a better program, but that doesn't matter :-)

White 06 January 2021 14:50

I added a small video showing Odyssey + Voodoo3 on Youtube but without a video capture program.
Even having a fast processor when I use the video capture program the performance drops a lot.
Here you can see the real speed
The system is not yet optimized and is by default in this case at 1024x768 and with only 512mb of ram.
I have to work on it a bit in fact the applications that seem to give problems are the classic quake etc. newer games work fine.
4.1FE side the system seems usable without major changes.
Rewarp is currently used to watch demosPPC + graphics card.
I have to understand the advantages that there can be on the Voodoo3 side in this case with applications like Basilisk etc.
I will do other tests with FFplay and streaming channels like twich etc.

White 06 January 2021 21:27

E-UAE is also compatible with Voodoo3 in this case at 16bit
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ESpO7uI2sNs

White 07 January 2021 12:43

For those who do not own the 4.1 Final edition update 1 & 2
The 4.1 update 6 Classic can always be used with the Voodoo3
many applications from games such as Quake can be used and even E-UAE the requirements are minimal in many respects and perhaps faster than 4.1FE update1 & 2 to use locally is ideal.
Then you also need a little imagination.
Given the difficulty many times in configuring E-UAE with "JIT" enabled, I created a small package that is easy to install even in 4.1 update 6
I hope it is useful, maybe the workbench 4.1 update 6 can be re-evaluated from this point of view.
And therefore tested more thoroughly by many
here E-UAE:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IHcJglls9lg
here Quake:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MTeHKvkWkLo

still to be configured well it would be nice that many people would do some tests on this :-)

Zarnal 07 January 2021 13:38

@White

I successfully completed your first tutorial but why didn't you use the ELBOX cd ?

White 07 January 2021 13:51

@Zarnal
I'm happy with it :-)

because I have no experience in using 4.1FE with dedicated graphics cards.
If you have any suggestions on the ELBOX CD for 4.1 FE they are welcome
I always like to learn and it would also be of great help to better complete the voodoo3 installation.

separate note:
with your installation when using warp3d are there transparency in the center in the gearsppc.exe test?
or can you see perfectly without transparency?

Thanks :-)
