I have a question, are there any creditals for the underlaying linux?
Since it is debian-live, the standard, user: live with password: live is not working. |
@winloze99
Hello there. Great work you do there with Amilator. I tested on 3 laptops and worked pretty good. Thank you for that. Keep it up... |

Tanks, now i have it working nice on my T420 on harddrive.
Many thanks for that really nice workbench system. |
How do I know which config file is the default?
|
You find it in configs/host-props
|
Hello. Sorry to bother but I have a question. I followed the guide and copied all the stuff on right place to a stick. I can boot from the stick and see the startup menu. When I select the 2nd option (... pc's >3gb ram) it starts and after a few seconds I get a message "HD not found /mnt/auto/autofs/cdrom" and it stops. I did not change anything so I was wondering if somebody knows this problem. Many thanks.

Do you have a CDRom in your PC?
|
There is a CD-ROM player in the PC
|
@Dunny, Any further ideas? Many thanks
|
None here, but I'm not that well up on linux internals. Nobody (forum member) may be able to help if you send him a PM.
|
OK. Thanks Dunny.

I have Mouse and Keyboard.. but no Sound.. and AmiKit X boots but crashes at the end of the boot Process.. and boots and crashes over again!

Live Version??
Not used this before but it looks interesting so I thought I would give it a try but before I do I have a question.
Will this installation write to my existing hard drive or is it completely live? Regards Max232 |
It's completely live. Installing to HDD is not particularly easy if you're unfamiliar with Linux.

@Dunny
Cheers for the update. I am familiar with Linux just not this project. I was concerned it may write something to the HD after boot which may mess around with the operating system on that drive. Regards Max232 |
You can install it to HD but first you have to install Linux Debian basic as a base and install all stuff one by one if you know the list and modify some scripts ;)
Everything is possible if you invest time. |

FS-UAE issue, or Amilator ? I have tested the latest released version (4.15.2) on a couple of older laptops: Dell Latitude D410 (https://www.dell.com/downloads/globa...it_d410_en.pdf) Dell Latitude D420 (https://www.dell.com/downloads/globa...it_d420_en.pdf) Dell Latitude D430 (https://www.dell.com/downloads/globa...it_d430_en.pdf) Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Li 1818, Intel T2080 1.73GHz (not mine, https://notebookspecialista.hu/files...cts/Li1818.pdf) There is at least 1GB RAM in all these laptops. Common to D410, D420 and Amilo is that all of them refuse to give the Amiga ZorroIII-RAM. Also, none of them are able to emulate the graphics card (uaegfx-z2, uaegfx-z3, real PicassoIV with ROM, during the installation of Picasso software the PIV card is detected, but the monitor fails to start). Messages on my D410 and D420 on startup: Graphics card memory size 524288 (0x80000) larger than maximum reserved 0 (0x0) Zorro III fastmem size 4194304 (0x400000) larger than maximum reserved 0 (0x0) Also, when emulated graphics card is enabled (D410, D420, Amilo) but not working these setups run at 30% speed compared to when the graphics_card configuration is commented out ("only" 300xA500/8.67xA4000, compared to 856xA500/24.84xA4000). The D430 works as expected with ZIII and graphics. D410, D420 and Amilo accepts 8MB fastram (fast_memory = 8192). Relevant section from configuration: Code:
[fs-uae] Any idea where I should start looking for what is the cause of the issue ? |
