Pizza Connection

Would be great if someone could make a WHDLoad-Installer for Pizza Connection.

The sound only works when the turbocard is deactivated.

Guess what, I have started a patch for this game a while ago. :)

derLegoMann 23 April 2013 18:04

Hi!

Here are the updated discs from Version 1.2

http://www.legomann.lightage.de/down...izza/Pizza.zip
http://www.legomann.lightage.de/down...zza/Pizza4.zip

You can use disc 3 and 4 from your original version, because there are no changes.

and here ist the changelog:

I hope you could support this version too in your WHD-Installer.

Thanks but I do have an original version of 1.2 here (yep, bought the game back then!). :) The patch is more or less finished but I need to playtest a bit which I didn't get around to doing yet.

StingRay 24 April 2013 17:51

The Pizza Connection patch is now available, have fun.

derLegoMann 24 April 2013 19:37

Hi!

Wow, thanks that was fast. I'll test it on the weekend.

Hi !

I'm looking for the original version of Pizza Connection v1.2.
The above links with this game have not been working for a long time.
Anyone able to put this game in the zone ?

I didn't realise there was a release of this for Amiga until today. :laughing

Does the WHDLoad release include an English translation patch from the PC version?

I have only seen people mention the English version reviewed in old Amiga magazines but I haven't seen any evidence of an actual release.

AFAIK, an English version was released only on PC. Maybe they decided not to release an English Amiga version because of low sales in Germany, even if they had already sent it out for review to English magazines.

I wonder how doable is to add the English language to the WHDLoad version using the PC version's files?

I'd probably say it is very doable and more a question of time and commitment. Fast option would be to write some kind of basic tool to extract the english from the PC version and replace the text on the Amiga version. The slow option would most likely be a community member with a hex editor. :D

However it seems like there is probably an english version out there and it just hasn't been found; which is probably going to be a sticking point in the back of someones mind and would in turn probably discourage someone going down the hex editing route.

There is a slim chance the PC version uses the same file format as the Amiga version then you could just steal the files?

Yeah, The game looks near identical. I haven't looked at the data myself but I didn't consider that as a possibility as we are never usually that lucky. :D

The main game title graphics would likely need changing too if you are going for accuracy. It was going to be released as Pizza Tycoon in english.

I think the PC English version is called "Pizza Tycoon" and is also on Turran

I'm amazed at so many reviews of Pizza Tycoon in so many Amiga magazines yet the disks are missing.

The file format for the English text seems to be identical. I'll zone all the files from the English PC version.

Edit: Certain text elements aren't in the text files. I had a quick look at the files but couldn't find out where they are stored.

It seems EAB was already looking into this a while back.
