A never ending imaging story ... another collection of disks.

It's been a while since I did image the Bamiga Collection with a couple of friends but that aside disks keep coming in. I collect Amigas and you can't seem to buy an AMiga here without getting between 0 and 5k disks with it.

So I started doing adf files again because that 1 square meter of disks has to go at some point before there's even more coming in.

So here the first 2000 ( roughly ) , it's a 1gb .rar and here's the torrent link:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/pg4po5lny8...r.torrent?dl=0

*disclaimer: I image them, the community does the rest. So no virus checking happened and whatever goes wrong, it wasn't me.

Hi SimonV

Thanks again for this :D

Just a question:

never used torrent, which program i must use ?

Thanks, chip

Retroplay 20 November 2019 17:20

Thanks. :great

Nice timing too, I just got my Pi4 setup with good old trusty Deluge 1.3.15 yesterday.

If it's ok with you, I could upload the rar archive to the ftp ?

@SimonV - what are you using to convert to ADF? I'm surprised you weren't faced with bad sectors lol.

I'm just wondering whether it would be safe to run these via emulation as the virus if any would be unlikely to damage that on reset?

Hi, diskripper 1.52 from Aminet ... and yes there are bad sectors on disks but it's not too bad at all.

You can emulate your desired machine and boot these disks. As long as you keep the ADF files write protected nothing will spread. If you turn your emulation of and on, virusses in (emulated ) ram are gone. In the case you wondered if virusses can spread to your host machine from the emulated machine. No.

Thank you. Looks like a nice tool for batch imaging with auto error correction

Once again, this is proper, awesome work. And what pretty much anyone should do when in the vicinity of old Amiga disks :).

great stuff!

redblade 29 November 2019 19:46

Hi. Is this a BBS Collection? Also do you know any about this archive? Was he a demo scener? A Gamer? A trader?!?!

Thanks

SimonV 30 November 2019 22:43

I got the disks left and right ... an at least one of the previous owners also got it left and right. SO it's really a mixed bag but you never know ... it's impossible to tell if maybe 500 of these belonged to a scener or not.

Anyway, in the meantime the next 2000 are almost there.
