Program to examine MOD file (ST/PT, version # etc)?
So you know the correct tracker/version to play the module with.
Alternatively an Amiga tracker that displays detailed info if the file can or can't be loaded. Cheers :great But preferably a CLI utility that I can stick in C: and type e.g. examine MOD.randomname Hm. Does some file manager do that? |
I dont think that you can find/have something better than Delitracker 2 tracker recognition routine. For CLI you must rip and adapt this routine.

Delitracker has come up in searches, yes. I can write my own, but hoped there would be a CLI utility from around 1993 onwards that does a correct ID. Was less of a problem then, when we kept close track of versions, now it's difficult even with module release date known.

modinfo requires 68020 for no reason and generates a report which is nice, but the format description is short and seems wrong, Pro/Noise/Star-Tracker for a Soundtracker song predating all 3 trackers. (And what is Star-Tracker? Startrekker?)
I should have emailed asle to begin with. :) Thx Chip. Edit: After some research, I found out that LemonAmiga had the release date wrong. The correct date elsewhere allows the song to be a Noisetracker song, which means modinfo could be correct. |
