What do i have here?

Hi Everyone
WARNING: Likely oversized very detailed images included.

I found this recently in a box at the back of other Amiga related items.
Quite simply, i have NO idea what it is. I took the casing off but still can't work it out.

Any ideas?

Thank you.

Maybe a X-Copy & Co. dongle?

IvanEBC 01 March 2021 08:35

That would be a commerical product?
This feels hand made.

There's some type of on/off switch on one side, and one of those "pot tuners like sound samplers use" on the other side... I don't even know which end to connect to an Amiga haha

You have this:

The clue was on the markings on your dongle!

Thank you so much,

Thank you so much,

Howdy, by now you've probably had a chance to look it up, but it was done by Jim Drew, the same guy that made the Fusion Mac emulator for Amiga..
He's actually active in this forum so maybe he can tell you personally ;-)

Meanwhile, you can read an interview with Jim here, he talks about the Sybil-project as well:

So it's a sophisticated floppy disk copier, the best one? Re Jim:
Which was a disk copier/imager commonly used with EMPLANT, my Mac emulation). SYBIL's software was fully completed, and it can write back Amiga, Mac, Amax, IBM, and Atari ST disks (protected or not).
It requires a hardware copier in order to duplicate long tracks and exact length tracks.

Isn't Jim also responsible for the SuperCard Pro? :)
