whdload bug reports

hi there...

i just submitted 2 whdload bug reports for king of chicago (illegal instruction when bombing the barber shop for the second time...- i use the version from cinemaware vault) and explora (french's chrono quest - illegal instruction when using the trashcan icon)...if you own one of these 2 installs with the latest WHD slaves available, can you check it out please ? (YES KG I WAS THINKING ABOUT YOU!)

thanks!

come on guys ! it will take you 2 minutes to test the games...i just need to know if i need to check for other versions or if the slave is buggy.

killergorilla 26 October 2006 15:42

Ah forgot about this thread, I'll take a look for ya. Possibly not tonight though, got a gig to go to tonight and don't think I'll get a chance to check out the probs :)

pbareges 26 October 2006 15:55

as usual you rule! you can take your time now that i have your word!;)

killergorilla 26 October 2006 15:58

You're gonna have to give me some advice as to how to do the things you've done in your first post, I've never played either before so have no idea which barber shop you are talking about, or where the trashcan icon is :)

Anubis 26 October 2006 16:02

Isn't easier for you to upload both games to the zone and have him check if games work?

killergorilla 26 October 2006 16:07

Well I could also do that :)

pbareges 26 October 2006 16:40

you can zone your versions to me! but if you want to give it a try:
for king of chicago, it's almost all about dialogs :
-you first choose to head for action to show the guys what you're capable of and it ends as a barber shop bombing...first time you try to shoot the shop, you miss the goal and second time should give you the exception error.

- for explora, just after the intro, in the first castle room, dry the "drop to the trash icon" and click anywhere on the screen...this should give you the exception also.

thx.

killergorilla 26 October 2006 16:47

Ah cheers for the info, I'll definitely give em a go.

:D

pbareges 29 October 2006 14:03

so ? did you finally manage to reign over chicago ?

andreas 29 October 2006 22:10

The Cinemaware "Vault" versions are nothing but cracks in most cases. :rolleyes
So you can't give a general rule like "dl'ed from CW = working" :D

Agreed ;)

I wonder why SPS don't give Cinemaware their files in original format (although I believe they have offered)?

If you have access to the .IPF files you should use these instead...

andreas 29 October 2006 22:46

I'm not IFW, but I *reckon* it was because the CW guys did not react and thus SPS gave up offering their images. But I may be horribly wrong too ...

DamienD 29 October 2006 23:37

I think you are correct andreas :great

The exact question was asked in another thread, Sinbad and the Throne of the Falcon if my memory serves me correctly ;)

Edit: found it, here's Faith's response to SPS contacting Cinemaware and having .IPF files on their site...

I'll take a look at these tonight.

EDIT: Shite, I forgotted again! I'll try and give em a go tonight.

pbareges 31 October 2006 18:53

another drunk evening KG?:D

killergorilla 31 October 2006 18:55

Hehe, nah I spent the evening ripping my CD collection. WHAT FUN! :crazy

killergorilla 01 November 2006 00:02

Well you are right about King Of Chicago... it gives an illegal instruction error. I've tried it with various data files all with no luck! Now trying the next one...

killergorilla 01 November 2006 01:03

As for Explora I don't seem to have it! (not the french version anyway)

pbareges 01 November 2006 14:07

thank you very much monsieur!
