HOLY CRAP! This A600 takes it!
I was lurking on several message boards and found this beauty:

Cool, with all the knobs and switches reminds me about some other Amiga project found on PPA.
But that one had a tiny little LCD screenie connected to the video output of the Amy :) What's with the red cross patch in the upper right corner? Is the poor Amy bleeding? ;) |
They put an MC-505 inside an A600 case, that's what this probably is.
A waste of a fine computer, specially having in mind the MC-505 is one of the crappiest grooveboxes ever. |
Hmm this is Dispyz, I doubt he would trash an Amiga like that... perhaps he's remotely controlling the 505 with the A600.
I guess we'll have to wait! |
dunno about that, i've seen some good live-sets done with the 505.
I have an MC-303, but i must confess, i never use it. my proper TB303 is far more fun! (why they had to re-use old model numbers i'll never know. the two machines couldnt be more different) i'm not sure if i approve of this or not. the whole thing looks a bit unstable, and I think it'd probably be better as just a pure A600 mod. I agree the bandage thing looks stupid though! |
Fork me! :D:D

I perused the side links and found this image on his lamespace profile:
http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/inde...ageID=12016153 I messaged him about it and asked if these were two different mods or if they were connected somehow because I found this video on that radiograffiti site: http://www.radiograffiti.org/2009/03...t-bent-mc-505/ I don't see the miggy anywhere! Hopefully he gets the message soon! |
I wonder how he adapted the C64 keys to that... I had to use C128 keys for my mod.
Also very curious about all those knobs n shit... that one is runnig Octamed on the pic so I guess it's a working A600 after all. Dispyz will surely answer your message soon so we will know! |
:nuts

He got back to me with some info and sent me this link: http://radiograffiti.org/_600/5.jpg
He said that the 505 and 600 are two different modifications (as expected). The 600 has two different (modified) built in switchable samplers, hand built midi in/out/through, the pico power mod, a hand built eq/effects board, memory upgrades, and "other secret mods I'll discuss in the near future that kick the doors open for amiga audio". I guess it's all powered from the miggy too! Jesus that's hot. |
I see he buys his parts at Radio Shack... copied my power switch! :D
|
thats an ogli madhafhucka
|
Out of curiosity what's so ugly about it? I thought it matched the "war with music" motif pretty nicely myself. Akira, you have a mod too?
For some reason the link he sent me isn't working. It was a picture of what had to be hundreds of wires sticking out of it as it was being built. |
People who are into Prophet on the Commodore 64 are forever doing crazy mods like that. There's one bloke at Lemon (R64) who seems to produce one every few weeks and while I wouldn't want one, I've nothing but respect for the amount of skill and creativity required to make such mods.
