ST-08 sample disk

Hello everyone.
When I got my Soundtracker collection it consisted of ST-00 to ST-08.
I made many songs with them. Recently (and while my Amiga is out of order for 15 years) I found someone who transferred my disks to adf files. Glorious! Only problem, some of the disks were no longer working :-(
One of them is ST-08. Now, I found it on Aminet, just to find out that my so called ST-08 is not the same as the one I found on Aminet. Either the instruments are named differently, or they are altogether different, i.e. a custom sample compilation. Obviously I need these samples to play my songs (never learned how to make modules...) I searched all ST disks I found in Aminet but few names matched or even came close. I took some notes about them (in brackets is the ST-xx number that I find a correspondence). Needless to say that after all this time I don't even remember how most of these samples sounded like (at least with enough accuracy). Also, a few of them were exactly taken from games, like "where is the money" (I think you all know where this comes from...) So, I just give you the listing of the samples contained in my ST-08, hoping that this might ring a bell to someone (only good thing, they are quite few in number). Thank you all in advance!

Oh oh... one problem. Take 10 disks, format them, name them from ST-00, copy your samples onto them et voila: You have got your personal ST-XX disks. There must be many, many different ST-08 on the web. If nobody has uploaded your special one...I guess that there are also e.g. many different samples around which are all named "strings7"...

where.is.money, yeah2, bloodmoney and perhaps some more maybe ripped from the BloodMoney titlemusic, which can be dowloaded there

You should be able to load the .mod into Soundtracker(or tbetter try Protracker) and save the samples from the track to your disk.

I have done a quick check. for the file "uhh2".
This sample is used in "psyg-3.mod" from game "Captain Fizz".
According to the name from sample table its from "ST-09".
......but in real this sample is not part of original "ST-09".

It seems many of this samples comes from game "Savage", music of this game is in "Old Soundtracker" format, so its suitable.:great

I've got a fair few of these, but I'll have to dig out my old ST-xx disks and then hope they still read.

Old thread, still a quest...
Meanwhile, I do not recall reading these answers...
One question for mai: How did you identify the samples under question? For example, that "strings7" come from Baal? (one of the three original games I was given with my Amiga btw...)

Dionysis 15 October 2021 12:57

So, I see in the link below that a sample from my ST-08 is listed as also included in a "ST-08" disk, among others. How can I learn more about this? I only see Twiter as a means of communication with them, but I don't have Twiter...
