Since the release of the latest version of iGame I wanted to test it on AROS One 68k, the previous version was crashing. Now the GUI works well also the screenshots are qualitative, the only flaw is the configuration not supported by Zune, it's not a problem just prepare it on OS3 or edit by hand the config file.
Of course to run iGame I had to update the system with some OS3 library, with standard AROS 68k it doesn't work like it doesn't work on ApolloOS. Test Video iGame 2.0 b6: AROS One 68k |
@AmigaSystem
Thanks for testing the latest version. Can you point me an Aros 68K setup which I could use for testing? Maybe we can solve issues that occur on it. Or at least provide some information on guide doc about it. What libraries you had to change OS3 versions? |
To run IGame you don't really need any OS3 library but only the path to its libraries, iGame is MUI based and doesn't recognize ZUNE paths, to run iGame besides WHDload and KickStart, you need to copy TextEditor.mcc and TextEditor.mcp to LIBS/MUI.
This trick will allow AROS 68k to run many native MUI applications. However, there is still the Menu problem that doesn't work with Zune, as said, you can configure all of it on OS3 and bring the ready meal to AROS or edit the config file by hand. |
I wonder if a separate build will be needed for AROS like we do for OS4 and MorphOS. I guess Zune isn't exactly a plug-in replacement for MUI.
|
Zune is a worthy substitute for MUI, only not all MUI applications are supported.
I also use Zune on my OS3 AfA One, as you can see with iGame, there is no difference between MUI and GUI. |
in post #1 what workbench setup is this ? looks sweet what are some of the tools Used icons ect thanks
|
This is my AfA One, OS 3.9 BB4 + AfA OS, I created the icons myself, this system is no longer distributed at the moment, read here the features:

I highly recommend the use of igame, it's such a nice little helper for launching games. It even supports wheel mouse scrolling with a mouse driver from aminet, which is super cool.
It's been part of my A1200's WB3.1 system CF image for a few years now. Great to see it being developed further! :) |
Firstly, this is an awesome launcher for all the WHDLoad games.
I have recently updated to the new version of iGame and was wondering how i convert my gameslist file to the new .csv format? If i let iGame rescan for games, it creates the .csv file but misses out many of the games i have that are in the gamelist file, any ideas why? In short, i was wondering if i can covert the current gameslist file to .csv, thus keeping all the games present in that and into the new .csv file. Only trouble is that the layout is totally different in the csv file than in the gameslist file. Any help would be appreciated. ### EDIT ### Something else i have just noticed, not only is the new .csv file missing game entries. It has also renamed many of the names i had set in the gameslist file, for example: "Arabian Nights (512K)" is changed to "Arabian Nights (2 disks version)" "Sensible World Of Soccer" is changed to "-+ Sensible World Of Soccer +-" "On The Ball - League Edition" is changed to "Anstoss/Carton Rouge/On The Ball league edition" In future updates is there a way you can make the csv maintain the game naming that is set in the gamelist file? |
I think that scan of games pick the names through the slave.
Instead a simple csv conversion of the file gameslist is required to don't lose the names saved, |

ive tried converting the gameslist file to a csv file many times and it doesn't convert it to the same structure as in the csv file that iGame creates. when viewing the csv file that iGame creates, each game info is on a single line, but converting the gamelist to csv does not do the same. |
|
yeah thanks for the link, nothing much on there explains the issues i am faced with.
|
If you rename entries by hand you can't expect the software (iGame) to notice that.:)
Also any non Whdload game that has been added to your list won't show up by a scan. The only thing you can do is to rename (add) those entries manually again. |
I was under the impression that iGame built the new csv file based on the gameslist file rather than create its own new one from scratch.
I have not added any non Whdload games to the list, all the games are Whdload, but like i say, once iGame creates the csv file there are many games missing on the csv list when compared to the standard gameslist file. So basically at present i am still using the gameslist file. |

I've written a little Windows based tool that loads IGame gameslists and fixes the names. It also adds genres to all the games as well. Its still a WIP at the moment as I need to finish the database, but its not far off. The database is based on Retroplays WHDLoad set.

@mrv2k
That looks awesome ! This could persuade me to start using iGame because I was sick of correcting all the names. Now all we need is a full pack of screenshots that match the latest Retroplay set. |
This set is up to date as of a month ago. I'm fixing the snapshots set as I update the database.
IGame Images I just update the archive about 5 minutes ago with an up to date set of images. |
