WinUAE debug border
Hello, is it possible to enable the display of the whole border area? I'm trying to visualise the rastertime used by a routine by changing the background color, but it ends somewhere in the portion that is not displayed.
VICE has a "debug border" option but I can't find anything similar in WinUAE. Thank you. |
Do you mean even lines that can are always blanked (including vertical retrace period), at least if normal PAL or NTSC mode) are also drawn
There is "extreme" overscan mode introduced in 4.9.0 but it won't show all blanked lines and because lines are supposed to be blanked, COLOR0 changes are not visible anyway. |
It is true that "Extreme" displays parts that are not normally visible, but in any case it requires adequate programming on the Amiga side.
Considering how complicated it is to properly fully manage the BLANK in emulation, it is a conflicting but interesting request :) EDIT: the edit is no longer needed, removed "Extreme +" (see below) would do the job perfectly ;) |
Showing full vertical and disabling blanking would be easy. Horizontal is more complex.
"Extreme+" would work I guess, with some debugger option that disables blanking. |
This is in development version. (but it probably takes at least 2-3 months before official betas start)
