FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
DiscreetFX Sponsers a Retro Amiga Game Creation Contest starring "Hottie™" Chicago, Illinois – March 23rd, 2007 -- Visual FX company DiscreetFX LLC Inc., offers $1000 to the developer or team that can create a three level demo of a platform game starring Hottie, in the classic gaming style of Arabian Nights, Shadow of the Beast, Nicky Boom, Zool, etc. "I have noticed game development for Amiga has seemed to stagnant and want to help change that, stated DiscreetFX's CEO. So begins a fun contest to sharpen your Amiga game creation coding skills. The three level demo you create will need to run on classic Amiga's and WinUAE/E-UAE/PSPUAE. We don't care so much if it is AGA or Amiga 500 specific. We care more of the quality and polish that will go into the demo. The game will need to star "Hottie", DiscreetFX's leading virtual character. Links to her image can be found here. Link to image Runner up prizes will also be offered and the winner will get a chance to complete the game and release it on Amiga OS 4.0, MorphOS, AROS, and other gaming systems. More information will be available on the following site in the next week. http://www.discreetfx.com/DiscreetFXGameShop.htm For more information about this contest please contact DiscreetFX. great news....
but what this "hottie" character looks like? is she on fire or something? or the usual sexy fem-like character? |
|
What a great idea.
Is the $1000 a gift with no legal binding to the author/software? |
Yes, but further development would help the team for sure.

oh, now I see her, as I expected her to be...
cheers on DiscreetFX though! |
Is anyone going to make this game? I want to play it!
|
Well i would certainly buy the game if it ever comes to fruition :)
Fingers crossed !!! |
I wish someone would hurry up and get start already! I might even put up with a flash version if it is good enough.
|
The main character is too complex and detailed to draw as a small sprite, she'd have to be as big as Brian the Lion or larger to make her look hot enough, and larger sprites are harder to handle in Amiga games and there aren't many games coders out there anymore. Someone could give it a shot in Backbone, I suppose, but it'd be slow.

@Rebel-CD32
At this point I think I would even accept flash. |
pyromania, i send an email to the black lotus (tbl) http://www.tbl.org/ for seeing if they have an interest in it.
we must wait for the answer now:bowdown:bowdown |
they are demomaker i don't know if this is easy for a demomaker to make a game?
but i tried, we will see |
But there is good programmer ther, perhaps you could send a more official email to them, and perhaps you could try to speak about your project to all demomaker in activity on amiga ????
publicity on demo party ? ps:i wish the best for this project because we need new incredibles games. |
there is the answer from tbl:
Hi there,Most TBL people have been working in the game business since many manyyears. We have been involved in titles like Tomb Rider, Legacy of Kain,Motorhead, Pinball Fantasies, Battlefield 1942, Battlefield 2, MidtownMadness III, The Darkness etc etcWe are present at DICE, Starbreeze, Eidos, Nixxes and do this for aliving. If we sell less than a million copies we are not reallyinterested so the Amiga market feels a bit uninteresting right now :) With that said we will soon start on a new Amiga demo :) Best regardsJohan aka RubberDuck ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
The Amiga demo is a proof of concept, the goal is to have this game on PS3 & Amiga if possible.
|
PS3? rofl?
|
