Stampede - Disk based magazine

Anyone know anything about this??

I have disk 2 here.. just found it.. not in a position to load it yet though :shocked

I have several of them. They were two different ones, one Amiga one ST.

I think they had the vector graphics star wars game given away with one issue.

STampede was for ST
RAMpage was for Amiga

They invariably carried two disks, one was the magazine, the other was a commercial title.

Licence to Kill was one given away on the Amiga mag

Ah yeah I had a copy of this (Rampage not Stampede) with Return of the Jedi coverdisk. The actual magazine was crap (and as it happens so was ROTJ!)

The memorable thing about STAMpede for me was the virus that they had on their disk! Will try and remember the issue. The apology the next month was classic! will look for that too....

As far as I can tell STampede was originally released for ST, then an Amiga version of the mag (named stAMpede Amiga) was released, published under this title for 2 issues before changing title to rAMpage.

Does anyone know if there were any issues of Rampage after issue 5 (Nov 1990)

mods: this thread should prob be moved to AMR section

If it means anything, there were 7 issues of the ST version

There are some slightly higher resolution cover scans here:

Well that certainly matches my understanding - STampede started 2 months prior to stAMpede Amiga. And it looks like both STampede and rAMpage finished up with the Nov 1990 issue meaning that issue 5 of rAMpage is most probably the last.

Well sort of - that's where the AMR scans came from (Gareth Knight is on the AMR team) but they are too low res for us so I've only put the 160px thumbnails in place. We should hopefully be receiving some higher res scans soon.

Hopefully AMR contributions is the right place for this? If not, just let me know which AMR section you would like it moved to Galaxy ;)
