Chip Ram Mod - Broken track

Hi All,

I've been installing the chipram upgrade mod on a standard A500. All went well until I accidentally lifted the top solder pad on JP2.

Does anyone know where I can take take another link and join the middle pad to it so that I can enable 1mb chip ram please?

Hope this makes sense.

Kind Regards,

Darren

Hi Darren,

You can just look on www.amigapcb.org . Select A500, then click on the top solder pad on JP2 and it will show anything it connects to (and subsequently you can solder the middle pad to) :)

Thanks Jbenam - I'll take a look.

Much appreciated. :bowdown

This is a useful link you provided and really cleaver.

The only board listed is an A500+ rev 8a and I have an A500 rev 5 board. I think these tracks are the same? I'm assuming there arent too many differences here? Just don't want to link the wrong things together.

I'm not an expert on A500 revisions, but as long as they visually match what you've got, it should work. Safest way to double-check that is with a multimeter in continuity mode (the mode where it beeps if you touch the probes together), if you have one. :)

Good point. Thank you.

They probably won't match very well, the Agnus pinout is different for the rev 8 board.

NP Jope, thanks - I'll have to have a think about the best way of going about it.
