It's called a software developer having morals; and boycotting the Crampire team who are engaging in illegal activities...

Other developers should follow suit in my opinion; until they actually decide to do the right thing / rectify the situation i.e. pay the developer / company of OS 3.9 for every copy given with a Vampire.

I understand about CoffinOS but I don't understand about the Vampire... This stance reminds me a bit of the dislike for the "Wintel" combo many years ago :D

And one should not condemn the Vampire because of some of its team members :blased

But each developer is free to (not) release her work for whatever platforms that she wants! :cool

Unfortunately also many users Vampire are not nice to people, I'm not interested in Vampire but this doesn't mean that my things should be misjudged.
Some time ago I reviewed my AROS One on HERE on forum apollo-core, AROS One can be adapted without problems even on a Vampire and I was treated very badly.

I won't discuss with a moderator who has shown his anti-Vampire bias over years of "moderation" and now even explicitly through commentary. Delete your moderator account and make EAB a better place.

You won't discuss this anywhere grond... it's obvious from the Apollo team's / your lack of response to any claims of illegality over the years.

As you can see from the amiga-news.de article; there is evidence from numerous people that they recieved a CF card with preinstalled Coffin OS from Gunnar von Boehn himself when purchasing their Vampire computer @ Amiga 34:

I think you'll find that their attention is shifting away from Coffin and onto AROS as the OS distribution of choice, as they are now supporting it's development. I think time should be allowed to see if this focus shift continues and if it does, then perhaps re-asses opinions.

In the end. it all boils down to choice ...

Developers choice to write their software or construct their hardware how they want, implement restrictions or enhancements to it as they see fit.

End user's choice to buy or use the product, to support the developer or not.

if you are going to bicker and complain then the developer might not bother to offer further support, culminating in the result that the end user's requests for fixes or upgrades would simply go unheard.

We are a diverse community, not a draconian collective. Let's not start pointing fingers and dialling up the heat towards people and the path they have chosen to take. We have seen far too much of that already over the years with casualties on both sides.

Let calmer heads prevail.

The Apollo team are free to create whatever hardware / software they want...

This whole thing is about acting illegally as described in the amiga-news.de article.

They need to be pulled up on this and are most definitely accountable; if true.

They are selling a commercial product (at an extremely high price I might add) and ripping off OS developers in the process.
