8svx samples/loops of analogue instruments

looking for proper sinewave/squarewave/triangle whatever

Looped (continuous playing, for lead)
non-looped (for bass "peak" sounds)

aiming to reproduce MsPacman music.

Care to explain what exactly are you looking for? I mean, sine/square waves etc. are rather easy to render so maybe you are have some more complex in mind. "Analogue"?

What about waveform creator programs like 4bc, FMsynth, Synth2, SAM, SamplesCreator, Spectrum, Niva, SoundFX, ...?

Or rip it.

ripping is a strategy that works for small tunes like the intro tune

but then there are intermission tunes, and they're looooong. Can't waste all that chipmem.

My first attempt has the notes right, but the sound sucks (and also wrong key). Plus trying to save as mod doesn't work... only first notes are played in VLC...

I'd like a simple continous loop (sinewave) for lead, and bass "pings", to be as close as possible as the original.

I meant to rip samples.

ripping samples to be able to replay them in loops or at various sampling rates is not as easy as it seems.

Sure. If you check the attachement in post #4 you see it is doable, at times.

just a proof of concept:

https://www.khinsider.com/midi/arcade/ms.-pac-man

MIDI converted used octamed soundstudio, gives 2 channels separated. Just choose a waveform from AKWF4Amiga /vgame or /vgamebasic (search in eab for the sample pack) for each instrument and adjust pitch using resample function. Notes range must be lower than octave 4 (in 4 channels mode, change it in song options). Using search and replace, convert all "000" lines to "c00" so the sound will be cut. save as mod.

After that, you should get an usable tune.

I've checked but I could not believe that it was an actual MODULE until I loaded it in milky. EXCELLENT! I want more :)

@adrdesign: good attempt. The conversion is a bit slow and wrong instruments but it's already incredible what can be done with Octamed SS (I used Octamed back in the days to compose some techno tunes but never found that feature)

Told ya :)

I was really off when I did this. Just PM me if you need that music. If you double resolution in MIDI import options and include tempo change (command Fxx) it will work, if not, just pm.

Milkytracker has a generator of waves, you need to go in the samples editor then right click New... create the space in bytes, then right click the menu 'generators' and cerate the wave you need - will ask the size and the number of periods. The final wave can be exported either as xi fasttracker instrument or as wav file - remember to set 8 bit though
