Walker - great foundation, why didn't they finish it?

Each time I play it, I wait for something new to happen. Although I know it won't. |
Just a couple of days ago I watched a video in which Mike Dailly talked about Blood Money, Lemmings and a liitle bit about Walker: http://eab.abime.net/showpost.php?p=...&postcount=524
So the walkers in Blood Money led to Lemmings and Walker in a nutshell. In Lemmings the idea of scale worked, but I guess in Walker they couldn't find game play to match 'huge robot, little human' ;) |
There is one false claim. It is possible to shake off the soldiers that try to climb the walker.

Yeah Walker and Under Pressure... I want to see interviews with the people that were present during the design phase of those games. Because I want to know which ideas did not make the final product. Both games are kid's dreams of giant mech video games that did not fully come to fruition.

You "just" need go forward/backward to shake off the soldier but it might need some training. If the soldier is already to near you cannot get rid off.

Thanks, daxb, updated!

All my buddies love Walker. Because I used to play it on a superloud volume at each Amiga party starting exactly at 3am when almost everybody already fell asleep. Me, my Walker and my subwoofer, ultimate love combo! :D

It must be said, the audio in that game is unmatched.

I do not see why this game was 'unfinished', OK some say it maybe repetitive but the differences comes from the enemies level from level and their tactics? I liked the backgrounds too, very atmospheric and doesn't distract the player from the action.
One of the best Amiga games IMO. A 1200 version may have addressed different weapons etc... |
