Works fine in WinUAE 0.8.8R8 and 0.8.14 (all releases), but you have to choose NTSC in the Display Menu ;)

Aren't there some CD's that are compatible with CDTV/CD32 like some of the demo collections that have PAL/NTSC switchers on them? I remember when I had my CD32, I had CD's with such tools, only they were worthless to me since my TV was NTSC and thus not compatible (rolling lines). Or maybe you could burn a CD with an added line at the beginning of the startup-sequence that launches some util for NTSC booting?

Chain 02 January 2002 20:14

but i cant run it under winuae :(
and i dont know name of the cd :(((

Doozy 03 January 2002 01:14

Nah I cant get it working either :(

After a bloody 4hr download on a 56k modem, I can't even get this bloody game working!!!! :( Anyone have any configs I could use with WinUAE? I have saw a file in the s/ sirectory that says startup-sequence.hd and it is supposed to get the game working from HD. This is I can't make head nor tail of it. Any Ideas?

So maybe after all this, am I supposed to burn the thing to a CD before it will work?

Well maybe it is the version of WinUAE that is the problem (I'm using version 0.8.17 r3.)

Cheers in advance....

Thats right, the CDPD disks had Degrader on them as did Lock and Load. If you have your CDTV/CD32 hooked to a 1084 then you will be able to switch between NTSC and PAL or if you have one of the newer TVs that support both formats.

Careful with that Ami Sector One version and REAL machines!

@Chain
Bernd, the webmaster of Ami Sector One, told me in a private e-mail that this version was actually a rip of the original which had been made compatible to work with (real) Amiga HDs, and that it was not the original, unmodified CDTV version!
It seems to contain patches (maybe from Aminet?) to work on HD without problems.
You may want to e-mail Bernd for the original version and/or additional information.

Doozy 03 January 2002 19:51

so...

Is it possible to get it working through WinUAE? I have tried myself, but nothing :( I have tried e-mailing Bernd and am awaiting a reply (fingers crossed) as to how to get this game working. They do say that curiosity killed the cat and if i can't get this working, then i may kill the cat again - lol.

Any ideas would be gratefully appreciated...

Cheers in advance.

Doozy 03 January 2002 20:33

Cheers, but that never worked :(

I have changed the settings to reflect my hd name, but still all I get is the black screen with a red pointer. Only thing I can think of is that

1) The file is bollocksed
2) Win XP is to blame
3) I'm getting a bit to annoyed to think straight
4) Mixture of the above

Please Helllllpppp!!!!!

Cheers in advance :)

andreas 03 January 2002 20:42

1 Attachment(s)
and here's the second...(for you old-skoolers :D )

SORRY for the confusion!!
I had MAJOR problems with the board software regarding handling of attachments. I must test something in a temporary thread...

Im no quitter.....

But I GIVE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

andreas 03 January 2002 23:58

Re: Im no quitter.....

Huh? You don't give up so soon, do you? :rolleyes

Listen:

- Use my configuration in the appropriate version depending on the emulator you're using. To make sure that you're actually using my configuration, load the configuration manually with "Load From..."! I found out that double-clicking a configuration doesn't always import the correct settings...

- You must auto-boot the game. Put all files in a directory, for example D:\cocc. Set D:\cocc as DH0:.
Be careful to omit the colon! (DH0)

WinUAE: Harddrives->Add Directory...
Volume Name: DH0 (no colon!)
Path: D:\cocc (customize this if needed)
Leave the Read/Write box checked.
Start the emulation.

This MUST work! :)
Good luck!

Must be a dodgy file ive got :(

Although everything checks out o.k. The file ive got is the 64Mb one from bttr website. I have just recieved my mail from Bernd and he suggests that there is something wrong with NTSC. I haven't even altered any of the settings in the given configs, so how is this. I have tried various other versions of WinUAE and the same thing happens on them all (black screen, red mouse pointer.)

Oh well, win some - lose some eh?

Cheers for everyones help..... :(

andreas 04 January 2002 17:56

Your COCC "distribution" is zipped.
Please do a Test in WinZIP if every file is actually OK.
I had to e-mail Bernd because it took me one WEEK (!) back then to get the archive and one file was indeed broken.
It's essential to unpack the archive WITH path names!
(I think you did that correctly, though.)
Thus, D:\cocc must have subdirectories D:\cocc\c, D:\cocc\s and so on.

Doozy 05 January 2002 13:53

Finally!!!!

Just got the game working, but it wasn't worth the effort like. Never mind eh? Problem was my workbench installation. I just did a basic installation and ran condor game through that.

Cheers for everybody's help on this one.

C'ya later people....
