CD32 Frog Feast test available. Test out the final!

You can download the demo version of Frog Feast for the CD32:

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=KD8AW1W5

You do not need to have a megaupload account to download the file.

This is a bin/cue cd image, and needs to be burned at the lowest speed supported by your CD drive.

This version is the same as the release version, except there are no flies. It will allow you to test it on your system, and ensure it will boot correctly, and runs decently.

This has only been tested on a real NTSC CD32. PAL mode was tested under WinUAE.

Nice one cdoty ;)

I know that you've released this on other systems i.e. CD-I, Genesis, FM Towns / Marty, Jaguar CD, Neo Geo CD, Sega CD, SNES, X68000... Good to see an Amiga release :great

TheBoss 27 September 2007 08:59

Great news!, the more amiga games the better, thx :)

Pyromania 27 September 2007 22:17

Thanks cdoty, got some screenshots of this new game?

What are you seeing? Does it boot up at all?

Does the image appear to be scrambled?

cdoty 28 September 2007 17:35

Here's an ad I threw together for the game (Scaled down from print resolution):

The ad was slightly inspited by Kemco ads from the early 90's.

viddi 28 September 2007 17:48

Nice ad :great

I only get a black screen or the CD32 startup screen.
But the orange LED flickers...

And it doesn´t work on my real Amiga with CD32 Emu.
It seems to be the same error.

Does the CDTV/CD32 have any sort of region protection?

What speed did you burn the CD at? I wonder if the CD is unreadable on the CD32? The CD32 seems s bit picky about cds.

viddi 28 September 2007 18:03

There is no region protection.

I burned it at 2x speed!

Has anyone else tried out this demo?
(real CD32 or Amiga with emulator?)

If you insert the disk after the CD32 logo appears, does it get past the CD32 logo?

viddi 28 September 2007 18:31

I´m afraid not.

Nothing happens...

Oh, please wait a minute...
I´ll check out my brand new NTSC CD32. I didn´t use it by now.

viddi 28 September 2007 18:41

Sorry, cdoty.

It´s the same here.
The CD sign animation starts but that´s all.

What software did you use the burn the CD?

And, this is probably a stupid question, but are you using a normal CD-R disk (not a CD-RW)? What brand of CD?

It sounds like none of the systems can read the CD correctly. A new CD32 definitely shouldn't have any problems with it.

viddi 28 September 2007 18:51

I used Fireburner and it´s a normal CD-R (Sony). ;)

cane 28 September 2007 19:33

I'll test it tomorrow on my PAL CD32 and off course let you know if it works or not.

I'm stumped, I tried FireBurner (version 2.21), and it worked fine here. I even accidently burned at MAX speed.

Sony CD-R's are probably not the best choice. Have you tried Verbatim or TDK, viddi?

cane 29 September 2007 14:06

I just tried it and it works ok on my PAL CD32, screen position is also ok. Is looks nice :great
I used Verbatim CD burned in Nero at 4x speed.

No, not yet.

I have to buy new ones first... ;)

But my CD32 also likes Aldi Rohlinge...strange.
