Citadel - Cytadela - New Version
If this is posted somewhere else, feel free to close this admins.
But I found this by pure accident and I nearly blew my load as I have always loved this game but yearned for a little more speed and less floating over the floor! I'd gladly take the speed :agree byt itself. Anyways............. http://www.indieretronews.com/2021/0...s-getting.html |
:spin Pretty sweet, i have to say :spin - music would be very nice,.. still pretty awesome ;)

Look nice. Seems that they have fixed that annoying wall collison effect.

It's not even finished yet so there may be some really nice mods to the game. Has the potential to make it one of the best FPS games on the Amiga. I cannot wait! There will be strafe action!

The original devs are doing this? Now that's something else.

Code: Pawel Matusz (Kane/Suspect) GFX: Artur Bardowski (Art B/Suspect) GFX: Radek Czeczotka SFX: Artur Opala (Kalosz/Suspect) http://hol.abime.net/4546 http://hol.abime.net/3027 https://www.lemonamiga.com/games/details.php?id=1863 https://www.ppa.pl/gry/cytadela.html http://www.whdload.de/games/Citadel.html https://www.ppa.pl/rodzynki/cytadela.html https://www.mobygames.com/game/amiga/citadel Message of arturB (03/03/2021): https://www.ppa.pl/forum/strefa-gier...ytadela-update "We know that our game was not ideal, but thanks to the efforts of Pawel - the coder - it is better. There are some bug fixes and optimizations. Mouse + keyboard support added but most importantly, performance is noticeably config dependent. So far, there is only a video but you can see the progress." Youtube: https://youtu.be/Nu-k4-aK8Zk "Citadel patch for emulators and fast Amigas. Improved (auto-scaled) movement, enemy and projectile handling, in-game animation speed, better handling of bumping into walls, new mouse+keyboard controls etc." Other version (remake SDL 2006-2013): http://cytadela.sourceforge.net/ |

I've always liked it. Even when I played it on my A500 back in nam the size of a postage stamp I sorta liked the vibe of the game! It wasn't until much later that I was actually able to enjoy it on the PC. But the PC version looks weird, like everything is a cardboard cut out or something. Still enjoyed it, and it's a pretty big game to roam around in. Anyways, those videos look even better than the PC version I have. Actually can't wait to play an enhanced version. I have the WHD load version and HD install of it (which is meant to be a little quicker but I aint noticed) but this will be even better. |
By the looks of it I still won't like it much because it still has that hugely annoying screen glitch effect when getting hit but I must say that the 3D simulation looks pretty spot on, no artefacts and warping that I can see.

The original, nice idea but terrible control implementation. It feels like driving a bumper car through an FPS.
I love the atmosphere. All those dead dudes hanging off the ceiling makes we want to mow down the monster menace but when stuck between a bumper car pinball hybrid experience, it makes it very hard to play. I think all the 3D FPS view games for the Amiga needs a modern AWSD patch or rebindable keys, plus better mouse polling to reduce the perceived input lags on these games. Or maybe just port all these games to the ZDOOM engine now that we have a working DOOM port from NovaCoder that runs on actual Amigas fairly well! |

Doom Attack AIO is the one I play. I want that CD32 support hence sticking with that one. |
Did this new version get available?
