Game unreleased-Nuxelia-

Hello, I've been looking at this site for several years and I finally registered. I have Amiga since '91 and I've gone through different models.
My first post is about the game unfinished Nuxelia-Adventures of Paelon, I think this game went unnoticed, no references on the web just does not exist in HOL, no video on YouTube (until I uploaded myself) and here had not spoken.
As seen in the video, looks great. Does anyone know anything? Came to be finalized?
The demo has always been from the 99 available on Aminet.

Great! It's like cute version of Torvak The Warrior :) I never saw this game before. Was it recorded from real Amiga?

Thats pretty neat looking.

From the video there, that's easily one of the more good looking platformer for amiga imho...

First welcome to EAB.

Sadly, we have not yet covered in HOL every game released on Amiga.

If Nuxelia was indeed never finished and therefore no contributor had ever played it, it made it even less likely to be added to HOL.

Have you tried to track the author (uploader on Aminet and he gives an email address in readme.txt)?

Looks and plays indeed nice. More like a Wonder Boy in Monster Land clone with some Action Adventure elements. :)

Amiga1992 10 November 2012 19:45

That looks fantastic!
I couldn't play it in winUAE, can't get out of the start screen, pressed "fire" repeatedly to no avail :/ any clues?

s2325 10 November 2012 19:52

For some reason I can not start the game, no reaction to fire button or other keys at title screen. Music is really nice.

Retro-Nerd 10 November 2012 19:56

Mmh, had no problem to start the game with my USB Saturn pad in WinUAE. :confused

Retroplay 10 November 2012 19:56

Runs nicely here in WinUAE using CWB Full 3.1 :)

Great little action platformer I must say.

Retro-Nerd 10 November 2012 19:58

Yep, tried it in ClassicWB (LITE) too. Probably a game i would have bought. :)

I tried it with keyboard and usb gamepad, nothing works.
What configuration are you using?

Retro-Nerd 10 November 2012 20:54

Nothing special, an A1200 config with fastram.

Amiga1992 10 November 2012 21:05

No, tried everything, different processors, speed, cycle-exact and full collision detection, nothing makes it work. Please post your configuration.

Here you go. But i don't think that it would fix your problem.

Leave the title screen alone for about 10 seconds and the game starts (at least that is what it does for me).

I mounted the lha archive in the Worbench window. Did you try by extracting the archive? Perhaps some lost attributes in the process?

Otherwise, it is pretty nice even for a preview (nothing happens when you are dead, you can be bounced back in the air when hit by that spitting plant at the beginning, hold up and press the fire button and you get the sword sound without any animation).

Let's hope the author(s) had made a further version and that we can get our hand on it.

Edit: wow, just tried again, a bit further: multiple paths and the variety of second weapons (press down to use, spacebar to select). Seems like the game design was well thought.

Retro-Nerd 10 November 2012 21:25

I've extracted the lha archiv in WinUAE too (DirOpus 4), no problems.

lilalurl 10 November 2012 21:34

I must amend my previous post, it seems like you have to press the fire button, the game does not start by itself.

It is a bit weird, if you press the button right after the game is loaded, you don't get a reaction immediatly.

I also noticed that the HD icon in Winuae is activated a few times after the title screen is shown. Perhaps the game looks for some libraries that Akira and s2325 don't have? Nothing relevant in the readme about that.

Retroplay 10 November 2012 21:43

Has anybody figured out how to proceed here ?

This is as far right as I can go, perhaps it's where the preview ends ? (I hope not :()

I have no operative A1200 because I'm installing it on a tower, I'm almost finished, so I tried the game in WinUAE but I recorded with a video camera (so it looks more like you would see on an old TV)
