WANTED: Parts to convert Apollo 4040 into 4060

Hi dear Users,

I own a Apollo 4040 and
want to convert it into a
Apollo 4060.

A 68060 CPU I have in spare.

I know that the 040 works with 5V
and the 060 needs 3.3V.

So I need a voltage regulator.
Than for shure I need a new
Firmware Rom.

Hope someone can help.

If your Apollo 4040 has MACH chips marked 130 it may not work as 4060.

It needs to have MACH131 to be certain to work.

Thanks for that
important information

Greetings zE

Not 100%

One person has tried with MACH130 and claims it works. Two others with MACH130 say it does not work. That is not a great number of people I know.

No-one(?) except Jens Schoenfeld can make new MACH chips for Apollo cards. He has placed an infeasibly high price tag (€88/chip) on it because he does not want to make them.

Did you find out if you had MACH131 chips?
