That Illustrator Gameboy looks like a photograph, very impressive. I like the pixel pushing too.

Thanks. It's all about the details. I'll have to post my 3D render of a Gameboy I did at some point. It's funny that I drew a Gameboy on DPaint in about 1990, then Illustrator years later and most recently a 3D render. About 30 years between them all.

Love your work Dast. Very pretty!

Thanks man, I appreciate it. Here's my most recent version of the classic handheld. Created while learning to use Blender last yearish.

But yeah, the gameboy ones are also neat. |

@Dastardly
What are your favorite software art packages of choice? |
@DamienD thanks!
@Pyro - I’d say Illustrator and Blender are my favourites. Of course Dpaint will always be a favourite as well from when I first started. |
Is that 3d Gameboy rendered in Blender then using Cycles? It's very clean I'm very impressed.
I need to give Blender a try. |
Yes, it was rendered using cycles. The model itself is one of my earlier attempts so I’d like to go back and improve it one day.

Nice job there. Re Blender over other packages, apart from being free, it is open source. So contributing to the project is possible. Cinema 4D is riding high in the motion graphics world, I love it, but it is expensive. Lightwave is still around, but it’s future is worrisome as VizRT bought Newtek just over a year ago and we are all worried if it will be part of the new company’s plan.

Yeah, the whole thing has a more exaggerated, cartoony style than the original pixel version. It just felt more natural when I was doing the modelling.

Very nice art! Like it :great
