No "NoClick" applications seems to work for my A1200 floppy drive?
 

I want to silence the floppy drive in my A1200, avoind the seek noise every ~3 secs or alike, but for some reason I cannot find any applications that works for me. I have searched for this, http://aminet.net/search?query=noclick but none of them are working?

I am not sure if it is because I have my A1200 disassembled currently but almost all of them "silence" the drive much more, but there still is a tiny sound in the same interval - maybe I can only hear it because my cover is off, not sure, but is this normal?

I am having a Panasonic floppy drive.

Will it be safe for me to use these applications, even if they have this tiny sound or .. ?

Insert non bootable formatted disk in drive, this is the best option for no click.

That will give an extra icon on the desktop and ideally I would like to avoid that, if it is possible to disable the seek interval when empty?

The click is necessary for detecting disk-insertions - the relevant signal is only updated when the head steps.

No-click applications work by asking the drive to step beyond the valid range of head positions. Most drives go "Nope, not doing that", and thus become silent.

If your drive doesn't become silent, it's trying to move to an invalid position, which will not be good for it. So no, if your drive doesn't become silent, it's not safe to use no-click applications.

Disabling the interval would, unfortunately, render the drive unable to detect insertions.

Nothing is perfect, but perhaps you can use " " empty disk name and very small icon as Disk.info or icon from special colours and/or in special place, then it will be almost invisible on the desktop.

It is also possible to hide DF0: in workbench prefs so icon never show up.

I use this, and sometimes use floppies for demos, but never from Workbench, so hiding it is not an issue for me.
