Wanted: Body Blows v1 - SCP or IPF images

Hi,

I have the original boxed version of Body Blows (OCS/ECS) which has the version 1 disks.

The boot disk seems to be corrupted and I would like to restore it. However, I can only seem to find version 2 of the game on the EAB FTP server:

Body Blows v2 (1993)(Team 17)[1147]

Does anybody have, or know where to download, the SCP or IPF images I can use to restore my original disks.

Thank you.

I have it.

However, if the disk 1 has a bad track 0, be sure that the disk is valid.

PM me.

That link only has Body Blows Version 2 for OCS/ECS, there is no official IPF of Version 1.

I have two copies of body blows which say version 1 on them. I have a greaseweazle and can make an scp image of the disks.

Great!

Although I have a copy from dlfrsilver, it would be good to compare the dumps!

PM to discus how I can get the files to you. Each disk is 62mb each as did 5 reads of each track to get good data. Not sure if I can upload onto EAB such big files

tomead 10 December 2020 09:16

files compressed really well so upload the images to the Zone. Let me know if the images are good or bad

BarryB 13 December 2020 12:12

@tomead: Seems your dump is OK.

Keir just updated Disk-Utilities to support 2 Variants of Body Blows ECS where Track 5.0 on Disk 1 (your dump) is incomplete and my copy where Tracks 72.1 and 73.1 on Disk 1 are incomplete!

Your dump installs via WHDLoad but is very slow to install for some reason compared to a CT-RAW/IPF, but it does install without any errors!

solarmon 13 December 2020 14:33

I sent a copy of my bad dump to Keir and he has cleaned it up. This image seems to this other variant of version 1 without the bad track. He thinks this is referred to as 'v3' in the WHDLoad slave for it.

BarryB 13 December 2020 16:30

So there are now 3 versions of the v1 ECS then! The fact that WHDLoad installs tomeads and my dumps suggests those tracks are not used, Keir notes this in his update for Disk-Utilities and it shows how many sectors are in each of the bad tracks!

Found my other copy and it's the same as the one tomead has, track 5.0 incomplete on Disk 1.

Track content on T72.1 and 73.1 should not be empty.

Is this for Disk 1? If so, are these duplicator errors? What about Track 5.0 on Disk 1, some dumps have that track bad as well?

So if the WHDLoad installer is installing Disk 1 without showing any errors, is it installing disks that are bad as there are 3 known Tracks that appear bad on various Disk 1 dumps?

I've sent you both my dumps to analyse! Disks 2 & 3 from both dumps are OK!
