The longest module

As title says, what is the longest module ?

I begin with this one

http://janeway.exotica.org.uk/release.php?id=40552

So, there's some other (Amiga) module longer than 14:51 ?

hitchhikr 23 September 2017 16:57

22:22 according to OpenMPT.

22:13 according to the text of this musicdisk :

http://janeway.exotica.org.uk/release.php?id=7586

Galahad/FLT 23 September 2017 16:58

Nebulos by Audiomonster beats it by 4 seconds ;)

chip 23 September 2017 17:05

At the moment, the winner is

http://janeway.exotica.org.uk/release.php?id=43821

with 22:13

s2325 23 September 2017 17:11

some are looped so clever you can listen them almost forever - Blood Money in-game, Unreal title and options

chip 23 September 2017 18:28

I found this way to see the longest Amiga modules around

http://janeway.exotica.org.uk/search...try=&more=hide

daxb 23 September 2017 18:43

I know a dbm (psyVSblk.dbm)if it counts with 28:30 duration.

chip 23 September 2017 21:13

It counts if it is an Amiga module

It comes from an Amiga prod like a game or a demo ?

daxb 23 September 2017 21:29

It`s an mds release. http://moodsplateau.net/?p=1380 I don`t know if the dbm (12MB) is somewhere available.

chip 23 September 2017 21:46

I see, that's the problem

Without the real module, we can't say that it's actually the longest

I should say no, it's not valid with only the mp3 available

chip 27 March 2020 09:42

I found a module longer :D

It's called mod.klisje paa klisje and it is 29 minutes long :shocked

I don't know if it comes from Amiga game or demo

Anyway, it's in the zone for anyone who want to check :agree

Amiga68k 27 March 2020 09:50

Jogeir Liljedahl - Face Another Day II

31:19 ;-)

*EDIT according Janeway this is 15:03, but EaglePlayer says 31:19

chip 27 March 2020 09:53

Ok, so we have another winner it seems :D

Thanks for the info ;)

Don't trust the times evaluated by software. It is often misleading because they vary in interpreting Protracker commands.

Jogeir Liljedahl - Face Another Day II really is about 15 minutes long
Walkman - Klisje Paa Klisje is about 10 minutes long (.lng version)

Jogeir Liljedahl - Face Another Day (first one) is really 22 minutes long

On my Protracker modules playlist the longest one is:

Substance - Moon Project: 23:54.

and some other longer than usual:
Old Fart - After Tomorrow 16:30
SMT - Eternity 15:02
Dr. Awesome: Now What II 15:01
Superted - Nouve-Fantasie 14:00

No, it isn't. The common version in circulation (408476 bytes, 72 positions) is 31 minutes long.

And yes, Eagleplayer is off in it's calculation. By 19 seconds.

no9 27 March 2020 23:38

And what Protracker 2.x says?

Axxy 28 March 2020 12:36

I just checked my versions. Most players on PC/Trackers say just over 15 mins for Face Another Day II.

As far as I'm aware, there are 2(?) versions of Face Another Day, the 20:44 min version with 80 patterns, released in 98 for PC players by JL (with cia timing, tempo, pc-friendly modified) & another version with 73 patterns, plays for 22:17 (reconstructed by Gryzor).

Seems, AMP has a different version as well for the Face Another Day module. Probably this is most accurate if Asle has ripped it?

So, now 3 versions of it. Obviously, file compare used on the 3 versions.

Anyone can also check how FAD 2 sounds in two ways on Youtube.

30 minutes of FAD 2
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jFwlf5z_TyM

15 minutes of FAD 2
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJqatM-X6pY

It is clear that 30 minutes version sounds wrong and not as author intended so it is hard to count it as such.
