A1000 SCSIpatch?

Hi All,

I'm wondering of there's a SCSI patch for Kickstart 1.3 that will work with the A1000?

I've used kick13scsipatch to add scsi.device to the 34005 A500 rom, but the file you end up with is 512k.

Is there a way to get a 256k rom file out of gpatch?

No, you can't directly patch it like that. You might be able to use romsplit + remus to build a ks rom that has the bare minimum in it to load the rest from HD.

Sounds interesting. I'll look into romsplit and remus (whatever they are - well the first name is kind of self-explanitory...)

I've read about people creating a Kickwork disk with a cut-back startup sequence that just loads scsi.device passes control onto the HDD, anyone here done this?

You could try kickwork and then use loadmodule11 to get a 1.3 compatible scsi.device loaded from your boot disk.

That sounds like a good idea.

I'm still a relative newbie when it comes to the intricacies of WB. What would an example startup sequence look like that loads scsi.device then boots from the HDD?
