Indie Retro News - My latest blog!

About me : Diagnosed with Autism in my early 20's I've always found it difficult to find a personal goal in life amongst other things ( the joys of autism ) . But through many years of gaming news posts on different forums, Now in my 30's I felt it time to achieve one such goal, to create my own gaming website. Full of the latest news from retro going way back to the Amstrad,c64,bbc days and to Indie, the latest independent gaming titles. I'll even throw in some Retro Gaming Remixes which i have a personal playlist of!

My Website : http://indieretronews.blogspot.co.uk/

Created it today and will be updated daily with all the latest retro stuff, indie games, emulator releases yadda yadda :great. hope you like and bookmark, it's something i've always wanted to do

Sites getting better by the day ... :) However, on a side note, the scrolling appears laggy? Is this due to too much content within the blog?

Neil79 10 November 2012 20:07

Thanks both!

lesta regarding the lag, it's most likely the videos as they are currently 600x400 yet at my end I hardly notice it, maybe some issues with very low broadband speeds. Just tested it myself, tiny bit of lag when the video's get embedded then it's instant scrolling. It shouldn't get any slower but if it becomes a problem for people and it's putting you off visiting please let me know and i'll do my best to fix it. Hope that's ok for now :)

I was looking at Deuteros on your site which is nice by the way, how is it a remake when it uses a emulator ? I am a little confused buddy.

True it isn't a full remake in that sense however the programme has been remade with an inbuilt emulator not just that it's the way the emulator works which has been remade or at least partly remade. Think of how the original Amiga version works and look at this version, it's just one exe. Now if you use Winuae normaly a rom/workbench plus the game adf/hd file is needed this doesn't require such hassle and you also have the game remade with new a graphical feature most likely from the inbuilt emulator.

So i agree partly it's not a full remake like you see from scratch but some work has been done on the original in a number of ways so I call it as i see's it a remake.

But hey if you don't agree, just feel the love of nostalgia and enjoy :crazy

Is anyone here a good artist at doing background artwork?, I'm looking to change the background which stays with the retro feel but is easy on the eye and website.

I'll give you a fiver in paypal next week for the job

Neil79 11 November 2012 21:56

I did my own :)

Kitty 12 November 2012 00:26

Neil I can't sign up for chat when I go to set up a name and password it wont let me and doesn't show anywhere to type your name and pass when signing up, might wanna use a different chat widget maybe? Most of them work once your signed into google but this one doesnt, its broke somewhere I think.

Also I have added your blog to our website, thanks for adding us :D

Commodore is Awesome

Neil79 12 November 2012 02:31

Great Kitty!

Yeh we've had a few teething issues today, somethings I really don't like which I've ditched.

Check out our latest update, I'm working to get it right :D

Thankyou for adding us to yours, great site as always :)

lesta_smsc 12 November 2012 04:02

Neil79 - it's not just the video content. For some reason even: http://indieretronews.blogspot.co.uk...pdate-new.html is not as smooth as I would anticipate. I think it might be the shere content, although with an i7 processor and 8GB ram I thought it'd be an easy task! lol

Neil79 12 November 2012 13:03

What's your connection bud?

Still looking into it, but it's finding it at the moment as the website is very smooth my end :(
