Excelsior! BBS

I'd like to let everyone know about a new web site I've set up. http://www.excelsiorbbs.com
E! was one of the big commercial bbs systems available for the Amiga with hundreds of registered sysops from around the world.
The site is up mainly for the sake of nostalgia and as a history of E! for anyone who may be interested.

It's taken a lot of effort to recover files from old, crashed hard drives. What I've recovered is now available for download.
This includes:
  • Version 1.23 of the bbs. This was the last released version of the software made.
It includes the full bbs along with Trapdoor fidonet mailer, Installer and Programmers Pack.
  • Registered sysop key file for community use.
  • User's manual in pdf format.
  • Tons of 3rd party extensions, utilities, and online games.
  • More to come as I (hopefully) recover it.

The software is being made available free to anyone who wants it. The only thing I ask is that you download it directly from the official web site and not re-distribute it.

If you were a sysop, always wanted to be one or just want to play around. Download E! and give it a try.

Questions, comments or ideas are always welcome. Post here, send a pm or use the contact form on the E! site.

Still working on getting parts of the site up and running but wanted to let everyone know. Everything should be there within the next day or two.

Thanks and Enjoy.

Nice! I used to call a few E! boards and I liked them a lot. Have been trying to find a copy to tinker with for fun the last couple of years but all I found was the demo version. I take it you're its daddy? Sweet share. Thanx a lot.

Will try it and do a little experimenting with it.
Thanks for it!!!

Three of us joined up and bought the rights and all the code back in '95. We each had different roles. I was/am the developer. One of the first things we did was put the demo package together and upload it to Aminet. And It's still there.

Glad you like it.
