CrossMAC - Ejecting a HDD ?
1 Attachment(s)
Hello everyone !
I use CrossMAC for file transfer from my WB to System Mac & vice versa it works fine. I would simply like to "eject" the HDD from my WB but the option in CrossMAC does not allow it to be done (see screen): http://eab.abime.net/attachment.php?...1&d=1675548418 I check the "Eject" box but nothing happens ? How do I eject my HDD (it's a 40MB .dsk file) ? Greetings ! |
Anyone to help me ?
|
I have no clue how this works but have you tried dismounting it with "Assign MHD0: DISMOUNT" ?
|
Hello yes I also tried:
Code:
Assign Dismount MHD0: |
I hate to speculate, so here I am speculating again. Probably you just can't eject a HDD, so you will need to reboot to free it.

No it doesn't work...
|
What did you try that doesn't work?

Your technique

Have you identified what is mounting the hard disk at boot?
Do you have a dosdriver for it in devs:dosdrivers? Move that to sys:storage/dosdrivers? |
Hello, I found the solution elsewhere, here it is:
You have to edit the "user-startup" with this command: Assign Dismount MHD0: Another solution is to delete the MHD0 file in "devs/dosdrivers/" however this operation will be permanent. Greetings :great |
Assign dismount isn't as thorough as you would want.
Instead of using assign dismount or deleting mhd0 from devs/dosdrivers, you should move mdh0 and its icon to storage/dosdrivers instead. Now if you need to mount it, you can still easily mount it manually by saying mount mdh0: .. the mount command will search both devs and storage for dosdrivers automatically. |

Ok, it's basically the devs/* hierarchy but not activated automatically.
Ah, in addition to using the shell, you can also double click the mdh0 dosdriver's icon to mount it on demand, if the icon has been set up correctly. |
