Championship Manager Games
Hi all,
Just wondering if there was any chance someone wanted to make a WHDLoad version of Championship Manager 94' ? :D |
It might work as a generic slave?
|
+1 on this one. Would love the CM games to be added.
|
You can just install them to your hard drive with their own installer, or at least CM93 and Italia.
|
Brings back memories playing these as a kid. Would be great to get the series all done if anyone has the time.

I did supply Championship Manager 2 disks many years back to get ipf backups made with box and manual scans.
I wouldn't mind seeing a WHDLoad version as the port could use some cleaning up. It's probably my favourite entry in the series, Although I do wonder if they could have made it more like the PC version by using actual images in the background by distributing a CD version. http://hol.abime.net/2979 Maybe even the performance could be slightly improved too? CM2 is still being updated today. https://youtu.be/AXz10_n7RDk |
+1 to this also, I had CM '93 back in the day but can't remember if it was on the ST or Amiga. Would it help if I was able to supply the original disks?
|
Would be possible to put CM 2 on to the hard drive as then it would be much faster than if was on disk!

IS there CM2 Hard drive in the Zones that I played my Amiga Emulator? I know there are bugs
|
It seems there was a bit of a discussion about a WHDLoad version of Championship Manager 2 a while back and it looks like StingRay and Galahad were both working on it at some point.

I outright refuse to touch CM2 for WHDLoad. Its seriously buggy, and the types of bugs it has are extremely difficult to fix because the game is essentially a database with a game slapped on the side. The kind of bugs cascade over time, and I just won't touch it. The HD version I did works well enough but even then I wouldn't know how long it plays before the game starts falling over. Won't touch it, if Stingray wants to do it, more power to him, but this goes beyond bug fixing blitter waits and CPU delays, this is game breaking stuff that was the job of the programmer. |
If anyone is interested in a WHDLoad version of Championship Manager 2 it is probably best to continue the discussion on this thread. http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=19079&page=6
Almost 20 year old thread and still going. :laughing |
as said in the other thread all series of Championship Manager (a part CM1) can be installed on HD and exploit faster hardware. Not really need WHDload.

I have only referred to a fix I applied to Galahad's HD version of CM2 in that thread. Not sure how you get the impression I was working on a WHDLoad version of CM2 from the linked thread. |
