I believe Rob learned from another tutorial on that site, so his tutorials are good for people somewhere between those two extremes.

i want to make some nice scrolltext with copper bg

not with demomaker, but just on my own:bowdown

BippyM 13 January 2006 22:19

Yeah I'd like to do something similar.. Today I have been reading a few Amiga ASM and hardware books :)

Here's hoping

where did you score those disks From?

Was EX4 the origional group that did the modern (the last LSD Menu they used) LSD Menu?

I think I remember seeing like EX4 as the vector on a OTT docs disk.

Maybe one of the experts could do a decent tutorial covering this!

bobbybearing 25 January 2006 11:17

take a look at http://ada.planet-d.net for some examples of demo coding... err, when the site is online :confused... : archive of sources from this site )

and at http://www.flashtro.com, many sources from old cracktros with many oldskool effects !

After a quick google search, i've found these:
http://cd.textfiles.com/zoom2/programming/assembly/

I haven't found the 4th part. Is it exists? ;)

redblade 29 January 2006 21:56

does some one have working EX4 adf images they can up to the zone please?

I'm having trouble trying to get the menu working :(

I can read the files on the disk, but would like to get the menu working so I don't have to 'DLD' each t-file to extract it.

Codetapper 29 January 2006 22:01

Just use XFDDecrunch...

shot bro.

Don't know why the coded menu wasn't working :(. I copied the files to ram, and had to rename some of the files so that it could work with the LSD menu.

Codetapper: XFDDecrunch is not on my WinUAE HD partion so I used the DLD extraction tool that came on the disk, yay!! Vector code, and some nice intro sources

Hey Bip!

It's just over a year since you 'decided' to start learning 68k assembler again, so I'd like to know how far you've come in the year since. Did you give in?? I still like your tutorial idea. Maybe if I get good at asm I'll post a few. It would be nice to create a bunch of asm tutorials starting with really basic stuff like hexadecimal, binary and the registers and then moving onto stuff like Exec, copper, sprites and playfields.

Having a bunch of new (enthusiastic) Amiga coders would allow for the production of a few simple games. Maybe leading onto some half decent AGA games. That would be sweet.

I've decided to have a good go at 68k this year. I've learnt enough to do basic stuff but I'm gonna finish the book 'Mastering Amiga Assembler' before the end of the year and get started on some hardware programming. :)

BippyM 10 January 2007 17:57

The usual happened.. I don't see results and got bored..

Will go again soon :)

don´t give up...:)

Ultron 10 January 2007 20:29

I think it's a great idea. Too bad the reason i love is the fact i know squat about 68k assembler and would love to give it a look!

BippyM 10 January 2007 21:26

I'm not giving up guys!

I have plans of things I'd like to do in asm, and I plan to get them started sometime this millenia :D

I just find it hard remembering stuff and hard to put the time in to learn and practice
