My Danish Collection

Available from floppy disk stores nowhere...

No, wait ...

Just to let you guys know. I just bought approx. 600 old Amiga disks containing, well, Amiga stuff for 100 dkr. Since it was quite cheap (that would be €0,02/disk) and could be collected in here in Copenhagen, I couldn't help it I guess.

Spotted a copy of Eurochart 23 in there, many samples disks and not many games, so there might be something in there.

Also, it seems (most of) the disks actually belonged to the guy I bought it from, so it's a personal collection. So, time to get Diskripper/Kryoflux/Greaseweazle going I guess ...

Cool news curtcool ..... thanks :)

Sandancer 24 April 2020 18:57

Good news there curtcool Thank You :)

Retroplay 24 April 2020 19:13

Hell yeah, hope to see more "Fast Eddie" and "The Mailman" releases. :D

Perhaps even this disk copier I had that seems impossible to find nowadays.

Okay, here are the results of my findings: ftp://grandis.nu//~Uploads/curtcool/...ks_2020-04.zip ...

Beware of faulty disks, wares with errors (because of missing/erratic AmiBack disks), viruses (the odd Saddam/Lamer Exterminator) and generally not much interesting stuff (from my/the demoscene point of view). There were also some module disks, any "new" modules have been added to AMP.

The first that springs to mind after reading your description is Sanity Copy.

Sandancer 29 April 2020 16:44

Thank You curtcool :)

Unfortunately that's not it either.

It didn't have the two track grids like X-Copy or the one above.
It would just show the current tracknumber (0.0 to 79.1) being copied.

Dang it, I really wish I still had that somewhere as it seems pretty rare or just very uncommon. :sad

I remember the guy I got it from, he only had an 512k A500, he had to switch disks 4 times just to copy one disk. :laughing

Thanks a lot Curtie, great stuff. :)

My Danish Collection (part 2)

Thanks to the kindness of Malcom I have been given approx. 900 Amiga disks, of which the 780 working ones have now been imaged as adf. Mostly games and well known demos, haven't been through it all yet.

The remaining, erratic disks made sounds as if someone were strangling a cat inside the drive (and made it require cleaning), so as these disks seemed not to contain anything rare (disks were generally correctly labeled), I will not delve further into those, as I don't have an unlimited supply of floppy drives ;).

I will upload the collection to somewhere when I have renamed the files accordingly, removed possible private content and maybe added a few things to Kestra. So, stay tuned.

Is this available elsewhere? I can't seem to see it on the FTP? :( Thanks!

chip 19 September 2020 03:17

Yep, because most of the folders under "Uploads" are hidden now :rolleyes

I personally downloaded those disks, but i mixed them together with others :(

curtcool 19 September 2020 09:36

I will make these available along with Danish collection 2 in due time.

jarre 20 September 2020 00:46
