Looking for Paragon BBS
Preferably 2.05 but anything close will do. Was spread on 2 ADF's back in the day (and took 2 hours to DL @ 2400bps).

Yes. "As far as I know there are no ADF's." That's as far as I know that's the situation, but I was hoping for someone to know something else :-)
I have my 90's BBS Backups also available but I'd like to get my hands on the 'original stuff' to start from scratch since I can't get it to work correctly with TelnetBBS Server (=software for Win PC to act as a modem for old computers). |
Maybe you can share your backups? In this thread a lot of old BBS backups surfaced:

Oh well, I don't think so at least for now. And anyway, it's 99% in Finnish language and it is 100% lame visually as well as by content :-D If I ever get it online (read further), I'll just run it every once in a while for the Finn community to try it out. Quote:
Oh yes. Just came to this thread telling I found it there. And for anyone who's interested, the version is 2.07 (2.0858 was the current version in 4/92). The archive also includes 2.0 but after looking around it a bit, I think the 2.0 disk is not needed even as 'base install'. Now if I just could get it to behave when someone calls. I'm running it on real hardware and using Leif Bloomquist's Telnet BBS Server (software running on a PC, connected to Amiga via serial cable) to emulate a modem, but the best I've achieved yet is Paragon answering the phone and hanging up immediately. |

Maybe I'm telling you something you already know but the typical way to get old bbs software to accept telnet connections is using telnetd.device which acts exactly like a serial device attached to a modem as far as the bbs software is concerned. You'd need a tcp stack installed on your Amiga as well though. |
Yes I'm aware of telnetd.device and telser.device and I have even tried them, but both make the computer hang when BBS is started. Haven't tried telnetd more than that, but at least telser works OK with outgoing connections so must be the BBS program that is having problems.
But in any case, for a few reasons I want to go the serial port way so I won't be fighting that problem with old weapons any more and I ordered a WiModem232 today and that should do it. Been wanting that for a while any way, and today felt like a good day to spend another 100+ EUR for retrocomputing :spin |

Finally got my BBS answering calls but seems my backup is missing some files. |
It's on Turran's file server: https://ftp2.grandis.nu/turran/FTP/T...on%20V2.7].lha
|
Oh yes. Just found it anyway on my HD and went to upload it and found that it's there after all.
