Psytronik site is blocked in Brazil?

I've been trying to access this page

http://www.psytronik.net/

but I always get this message:
"
www.psytronik.net - Access Denied
Error code 16
This request was blocked by the security rules
"

Asked a few local friends to try it out, same message.

Is it blocked for Brazil, or is it like this everywhere?

It's available in my country.

You might like to ask your question here as well.

I'm pretty sure, you'll get an answer over there.

I can access it here (Italy).

Allen1 25 October 2017 09:54

I can access it here in the UK, that is if this is the same one you mention:- http://www.psytronik.net/newsite/

It could also be your ISP which blocks it for some odd reason. Perhaps the same server (i.e. same IP) is hosting another site that they don't want you to access?

A bit of a work-around, but using some proxy like google translate could at least help you see the site:

It's not my ISP blocking it, it's their server. I asked a few friends here to try to access the site, people from other cities with other ISPs and the same thing happened.

And yeah, using demolition's link from google translator, I can see the site.

Perhaps they have had trouble with spammers from your area so they decided to block a large IP segment, perhaps even all of Brazil? Amibay also recently blocked access from Chinese IPs due to multiple attacks from chinese IPs. While it is my impression that not many Chinese care about Commodore stuff (I don't think it was ever officially sold there?), it doesn't appear to be that foreign in South American countries, so a more elegant solution would be preferable over cutting off an entire country. It could also just be an honest network-misconfiguration. Is this a recent development?

I am not sure, I had never seen their site before, it's the first time I try to access it.

Brazil is known for their internet trolls, sites have been banned here before, so it wouldn't surprise me. Except the kind of work Psytronik do wouldn't raise much attention around here, I'd guess.

Retro-Nerd 25 October 2017 14:51

Have you tried it via a free proxy server?

Yes, he just did with my Google Translate link above and it works.

Retro-Nerd 25 October 2017 14:54

Then he can use it properly with one of these i assume.

Perhaps they are confusing it with Psytronic or Psychotronic weapons!!

:lol:lol:lol

In any case, VERY lame to block all of one country's ISPs.
Contact Kenz and see what's up.
It could just be his hosting company, without his knowledge.

DamienD 25 October 2017 23:31

Try using a Proxy or TOR Shatterhand ;)

Fissuras 27 October 2017 08:42

Yeah, I can't access the site also, it is a whole Brazil ban. What have you done, Shat?

Well if he shat on them, he surely is going to get banned :lol

Shatterhand 27 October 2017 18:28

LOL :D

I've managed to access the site through a proxy. Someone (probably me, heh) should contact the owner of the site to alert them about this.

Ended up meeting Kenz in a random thread about a Psytronik game in a facebook group. Now is sorted, it's working here :) It was a problem with their ISP indeed.
