Number of amiga games
 

Hi there,

think I asked this somehow in the early 2000s before but:

Do we have an exact number of available Amiga games?

According to HOL Stats we have:
Games: 5851
Compilations: 463

How is this calculated?
e.g. "Die Siedler" has ID 4234 whereas "The Settlers" has ID 1878 assuming these are counted as 2 games ?

According to LORE we have:
number of game entries: 6298 (does this include compilations?)

Isn't LORE based on the same database as HOL?

Further questions would be of interest:
1) Which are the unique / exclusive (amiga only) games? There is this kind of "is amiga original" which comes close...
2) How many commercially released games are out there?

very hard to answer because many database include commercial and commercial titles and also shareware games that become full commercial games.
HOL have nice advanced research to find different entries, but i think could be not complete also for this numbers of variations in games hystory or some rarities.
I found some Amiga games that are not present in Tosec and in the various updates. I think that many commercial games are never dumped in adf file or lost forever so are actally "MIA"

Someone from HoL should answer, but AFAIK this is counted as one game in two variants, not two different games.

Once there was eager - Every Amiga Game Ever Released site. But is lost :(

Seems it's not possible to extract a list of these 5430 ones...

Yes, it's a shame there isn't a search or filter / category function; maybe try asking Daff in his thread and he could possibly implement as a future update ;)
