Is you username a deliberate reference to Zetr0? :laughing

Gonna give this "hack" a go me thinks. Gonna have to source the right SSD adapter first.

No, "AwoL" is my original username on here, I replied to my sign up email to ask if I could get my old name back , but I haven't heard anything yet.

I'm not terribly fussed about it though TBH. :D

Just a question :
You always use an ide to MSata adaptor. Why not using an Pata IDE SSD directly ?

Like these ones : https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_st_p...price-asc-rank

Price probably! PATA stuff is more expensive now than SATA. Compare the prices on that link you supplied and you can see the difference.

An M.2 SSD + PATA adaptator more expansive than a real SSD Pata ?

This one (4 Gb) cost 35$ : https://www.amazon.com/Kingspec-44PI...ywords=ide+ssd
And this one (32 Gb) 41$ : https://www.amazon.com/Zheino-Solid-...ywords=ide+ssd

Has anyone had success with a Kingspec MSATA SSD? I'm wondering if it's my adapter or my SSD that is at fault here.

Yes, that's what I'm using:

Trying to replace the HDD in my Mac Mini running MorphOS was much more of chore than I expected. I tried a couple different 2.5" to SATA adapters and a couple different SSD drives with no success. Then then tried 2.5" PATA to CF adapters, again with little success. In all cases they would format then after a few boots they would be corrupted, no longer booting, PFS errors all over the place.

Swapped it with a 2.5" PATA to MSATA adapter and works perfectly.

That's my story, thankfully not a long one.

My KingSpec 32 GB SSD was not recognised by my A600, but is recognised by my A1200. However, after setting up partitions and pressing save in HDToolbox, after a reboot, all partition info was gone.

It was this one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/mSATA-to-2-...e/151519954907

It's just the right size for the MacMini, the screw holes were a little off. But it weighs nothing and since shock is not an issue one screw holds it in place well enough.

here is another
M.2 NGFF SATA SSD to 2.5 IDE
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Sell-Good-M...72.m2749.l2649
buy those drives stupid cheap and will only get cheaper like sd did
so that + ~$20 for 32-64gb is really cheap buy 16gb for under $10

Finally, is there any good working 2.5" IDE adapter to SSD ? Has anyone found the solution how to make the Amiga 600/1200 HD Led to work normally ?

xraynorm 21 December 2018 19:28

I just changed my led board to this

http://amigakit.amiga.store/product_...roducts_id=564

and to my surprise led issue (led on when no disk activity) is 99% gone!

This was a power supply problem nothing to do with the new led board.
