thanks for the quick reply... I'll try to start the game without startup-sequence.
|
That's just to rule out any software-compatibility problem. If that changes nothing another thing to try is forcing AGA modes via tooltypes, in case it's some RTG-compatibility issue.
|
I'm using the latest P96 drivers...
Tried without startup-sequence but I got a message saying that env: wasn't mounted and after many click on "ignore" the game tried to start (I could read "loading on a black background) but it didn't start. Can you tell me the tooltype to use in order to force AGA mode? |
You can use the tooltypes described in the readme, the game's icon has examples how to use them. Let me know if it changes anything.

A new version is out on Aminet. I released it to fix some long-standing bugs in the screen double buffering code, but it was a good chance to merge the latest JFBuild changes I made. The memory usage and performance also improved a bit, so I recommend grabbing it.

Thanks BSzili

I updated all the depentencies, so Exhumed now uses the faster audio mixers too. I also tidied up the console as the font was replaced in JFBuild. As usual the new version is on Aminet.

Great !

Hey! Could someone help me get the music going? I have the files from the demo version and the mp3. My setup is A4000, zz9000 + ax. AHI I have installed. I copied the MP3 to the game directory.
|
Do you have the correct MHI drivers installed for you device? Does MHI playback work in other programs, like AmigaAmp?

I changed the settings for the sound in the configuration. In AHI ZZ9000AX I only have 16bit. |
You might want to give MP3s another go, but check with SnoopDOS whether the game can find your MHI driver. Also make sure there are no other MHI drivers installed that are not compatible with your device. Sorry, there's not enough information to give better advice.

Just as a reference for anyone having this issue - in version 1.4 the AGA 060 version crashes (guru) for me if fblit is running just before it opens the game screen whereas the 040 version doesn’t. The 060 version seems a few fps faster on my tf1260/50mhz so it’s worth disabling fblit to use it.
|
FBlit has a lot of settings, so it'd be interesting to know which one caused the problems. If you have the time and can transfer your ENVARC:fblit.cfg without much hassle I'd take a peek to see if I get a crash too.
|
I don't think I have ever edited fblit.cfg or run fblit with any parameters but will copy it somewhere if useful.
I just tried to run it again and was getting a software failure even without fblit - it turns out I can only run the 060 version if fblit is off AND I start it from an NTSC workbench screenmode (FORCEMODE=NTSC didn't help in this case). |
