This looks very interesting! Does the update require a valid purchased licence (since if I'm not mistaken it will only allow flash once with previous method)?

GOTEK is awesome. I bought 3.1.4 with physical disks and one of the disks had corrupt data even though it was brand new. The Gotek and ADF's saved me from frustration.

The license is used to program the bootloader - once that is done you can keep upgrading the HxC firmware without reprogramming the bootloader so the license is only needed once per device.

And i would add that HxC flashed Goteks are registered : You can reprogram the bootloader on these Goteks without the need of additional license.

I had some trouble in the past with HXCFEMNG.exe and now I can't get it working again. Not sure if I am using it right?

I have HXCFEMNG.exe on my local HDD and have a FAT32 formatted USB stick as k:. The stick contains img, adf and hfe files in various subfolders. I want to use the autoboot mode.

If I run '.\HXCFEMNG.exe -disk:k:', I see the browser and can add files manually one by one. This works fine.
If I run '.\HXCFEMNG.exe -disk:k: -clearslots' I just see the program init msg but it doesn't seem to do anything. Also no error message.
if I run '.\HXCFEMNG.exe -disk:k: -populateslots' I also only see the program init msg and again it doesn't seem to do anything. I still only have the slots that I added manually.

I have tried overwriting HXCSDFE.CFG with a fresh one and also tried running the tool from an admin prompt.

I also tried using -setslots with a list that I exported previously, but this also does not update anything. Also no error message.

Am I using the tool correctly?

In fact the command line functions was broken...

This is now fixed :

Code:

25 October 2020 : HxC Floppy Emulator file selector v2020.10.25

Windows / Linux version :

    - Fix command line functions segfault.

Any chance HxC can close/kill all open windows when it exits? E.g. If I launch HxC, load an IPF or RAW Streams then open the Track Analyzer but then close HxC itself, the Track Analyzer window stays open!

BarryB 25 August 2021 22:39

Another issue, seems HxC has difficulty reading stream files created with an older version of dtc. Have some dumps of Amiga Format Coverdisks I did back in 2012 with dtc v2.10 (the stream files show a header saying 2.10n) and this is what I get for Coverdisk 1:

https://i.ibb.co/6ZyPYnp/Disk.jpg

I get a similar view for Coverdisk 2 as well! Exporting to ADF in HxC gives a corrupt ADF, exporting the same streams with dtc itself or Keir Frasers disk-utilities creates a working ADF! I don't seem to have the version of dtc I dumped those disks with but did have v2.20 to create the ADF so they seem to be valid stream files if dtc & disk-utilities process them correctly, so what could be the reason HxC does not like these particular stream files?

Anyone had any success with the OSD version on a 1200?
I'd like to find out how to wire it up...
