@Genlock This looks to me like a (graphics) driver issue.

@TEOL I guess a youtube-link is missing? Anyway, the scanline option in FS-UAE will probably go away, to be replaced by a choice of shaders. Shaders are already available - just without a GUI to select them - and more shaders are coming in the next version thanks to @guest.r.

TEOL 21 July 2017 16:56

Nah it was this but I linked it as a picture and it only worked for a while. I guess this is more perminent.

I'll try this embed again as well for the sake of it.

It looks really cool if we take the rounded edges off and made it all straight this would be the most accurate scanlines ever in a software and we would be the ones to have them.

So many time without update ! :)

Hi Frode,

I'm new to using FS-UAE, but I finally got around to testing it in my Windows 10 setup with 15Khz CRT monitor with the "scale = 0" option and my first impressions are that it's working really really well.

I was especially pleased (and impressed) by the real time visual statistics through the "CTRL+F10" view, to check how well and stable it is running. I've settled on the "finish-swap-finish" setting for vsync and latency is very good (low).

I understand most of the information in the CTRL+F10 view, but not all. Is there maybe somewhere the complete documentation to it?

This is what I understand
graphs:
- EMU graph yellow shows frame emulation time
- EMU graph orange shows time waiting for vsync
- Blue graph (on the right) shows audio buffer stability
numbers:
- EMU FPS number is frame rate from emulation
- SYS FPS shows actual video output rate
- Blue "40" number is audio buffer setting in milliseconds

But there are more numbers in the different graphs than the above mentioned, could you elaborate a bit on those? Also, what do the lines in the blue graph stand for?

Hope this is possible.

Thanks and best.

Has FS-UAE been abandoned :(

Dunny 14 October 2017 02:37

The last commit to the source was by Frode on the 12th of July, but it was indeed just a small one. I wouldn't say it's abandoned while there's work been done just two months ago.

Seems so, like all other UAE except WinUAE :-(

Maybe Frode is just really busy..? He has done an astounding job with FS-UAE (thanks also to the others who contribute). Call me eternally grateful. :bowdown

A new development version has been released. Changes in FS-UAE 2.9.7dev:
  • Support building with latest version of MSYS2.
  • Renamed option frame to bezel.
  • New option: force_aspect.
  • Added shaders compiled/ported/written by guest.r.
Changes in FS-UAE Launcher 2.9.7dev:
  • Fix detection of Windows 10.
  • Support building with latest version of MSYS2.
  • Include quick setting to toggle display of bezel.
  • Quite a bit of changes, but many related to non-Amiga platforms.
Changes in FS-UAE Arcade 2.9.7dev:
  • Respect joystick modes from the game database in input selection screen.
  • Fixed aspect toggle button.
  • Fixed support for dual X-Arcade controllers.
  • Gamepad/joystick devices can be hotplugged with on-screen notifications.
  • Option to disable search function (arcade_search).
(If anyone has had problems with joystick/gamepad devices not appearing in FS-UAE Launcher on Windows, pleaase try with this version and see if anything has changed)

coooooooll thnk thnk for this new version!!! where i can found the list of shaders by guest.r please?

FrodeSolheim 18 October 2017 08:56

See https://github.com/FrodeSolheim/fs-u...fs-uae/shaders for the list of included shaders.
(The files with the commit message "Added shaders compiled/ported/written by guest.r.")

Example option to use one of them:
Code:

shader = crt-hyllian

Dr.Venom 18 October 2017 11:01

Thanks for the update :)

I had hoped for the framedelay feature to make it into the new dev version, are you still planning on including it?

I know I had indicated that, yes, but expect it included in a new dev version within a week :)

Not working on macOS (FS-UAE dev latest, High Sierra). Gives the following:

I had the same problem, and guest.r already fixed it. @Frode: please merge my pull request, so the updated shaders can be included in the next dev-version. :)

sink 19 October 2017 08:56

please guest.r, CRT-Geom like on Higan emulator! :)

Great, looking forward to it.

I also came around to creating a setup to measure input latency objectively (see the topic for winuae vs real amiga here). I hope to do some similar measurements for fs-uae when the new version is out. Will be nice to see how much of a difference framedelay can make and whether it will "match" our theory / assumptions :)

EmuChicken 22 October 2017 20:03

Is there any chance of the x64 version for download? The latest dev build gives me some python module "freeze" error. ;/ - 2.9.6 x64 works fine
