Let's get back on topic please..

Okay, embarrassing question, does anyone have crazy amounts of disk space on their real hardware, enough to mirror Aminet? :P

Remember when Aminet was the largest software archive on the internet? It held that status into the late 90's.

It potentially still is.

Think about it, 60GB is massive, most FTP sites have closed down, unless they are private ones. Probably the only Linux distribution mirror that'd be close is Debian. Most 'archiving' that people have going are torrents and aren't hosted on a single site like Aminet. Most have become some sort of decentralized system.

Lilith hosts us3.aminet.net. OT but too cool not to share. :)

I don't believe Aminet was ever the biggest software archive. I believe ftp.cdrom.com held that status, for many years.

Don't know what is the "cursor", but number of archived programs should count. Not the space required to store them as for sure a CD needs more space ;)

I disagree. It should be measured by total size of files hosted. I can't find a figure for cdrom.com, unfortunately.

I suspect you mean on an Amiga?
Because on PC 60GB is not a serious number any more.
I have several TB of disk space.

Only quality counts. ;)
