200k less is indeed strange :confused I'm playing the [U][!] version and I don't see any way to score leech either. Do you use the weapons much?

No, not anymore... I only rarely use them in FF2.

Maybe it's the "burning barrels"-bonus stage which I failed to complete. Did you beat that round?

Nope, but I got pretty far (I guess). Do you wait and beat all the enemies before you proceed during the 'Go' phases?

I think you can always only proceed after you've beaten every enemy. Sometimes when the "GO" appears I walk as much to the right as possible (until the scrolling stops) before I attack the enemies - but I don't think that makes any difference at all.

Hmm, I try to beat the enemies 'on the way', so as far left as possible. Maybe that makes the difference (and I shouldn't be telling that... :nervous :p)

@TCD: As I thought, inching your way forward doesn't change the number of enemies appearing, so it really just comes down to almost never throwing and jumpkicking. You also get 10k points for a barbeque if you're already at full health.
The red fire-dudes also give a lot of points. I usually avoid them while you probably didn't... ;)

Clocked FF2. Had to use the PSP-emulator's snapshot-feature because you can't pause the game after defeating Retu. I was almost too late - but you can still read (or decypher ;)) the score:

I think the final boss (who is easier to beat than Rolento and Phillippe) is worth 100k. Thus I'm still ~100k behind TCD in scoring-effectiveness.

Yep. Except that he has a lot of health, he really is an easy boss. Expected him to draw some more cheap tricks, but they saved that for Final Fight 3 ;)

edit: Just played through FF2 again trying to kill the "firestarters", too. In the end I only had 2.285M - so I give up on further improving the FF2-score.

Luckily you can avoid Stray who is really cheap. I'll first try to complete FF3 without having to fight him.

Damn, just finished Final Fight 3. Beat the end boss "Black" who's way too easy...

Didn't get to a high score table though so couldn't record my score, from memory it was around 1,130,000 before beating Black.
