LOL :laughing :laughing :laughing

bippym... Ooops, just finished editing my post while you were posted your response ;)

I agree with what you've just said :great

DamienD 10 April 2006 18:11

Ok, finished work early today and now at home.

Starting to play the [cr Genetix] set. Initial observation, French keyboard also at first password protection screen...

I'm crazy hey? Really want to get to the bottom of this and have a completely working set :crazy

Anyway, give a 5 hours or so and then I'll report my findings ;)

Good spot.My 4 disks are definitely one set.
The disks 2-4 are these:

Have fun with it, m8!
I'll scan all disks now for bad files and other things and will do some compare with the (fr, de, en) versions of the SPS/Caps images. I'll post my findings in some hours, too. :spin

Hey guys,

Well I'm back after playing the [cr Genetix] set on WinUAE v1.0.0...

Unfortunately I don't have good news. Same thing as with the Interpol set i.e. on the 4th "job" where you need to fix a CPU in a computer, the mission brief had f$%ked up text again (see attached screen shot). Stopped playing this version now :crying

As I have the Flashback .ipf files, my next test will be as follows:

... Boot using my cracked Disk 1.
... Enter in the password for Level 2 - Easy.
... When asked for Disk 2, I will insert the .ipf Disk 2. Hopefully this works.

I want to check if the .ipf file has this also. Will post my finding soon...

;)

DamienD 10 April 2006 21:19

Hmmm, very strange :crazy

I did as I said above:

... Booted using my [cr Genetix] Disk 1.
... Entered in the password LOUP for Level 2 - Easy.
... When asked for Disk 2, I will inserted the .ipf Disk 2.

Level 2 loaded fine. Got to where Ian is, sat in the chair and was asked to insert Disk 1? This didn't happen before with the full cracked set... Anyway, inserted the .ipf Disk 1, it loaded for a bit and then asked for Disk 2 again. Inserted the .ipf Disk 2 again, I was then show the cutscene in French :shocked

The .ipf set that I used was this one which is supposed to be English:

... 1163 Flashback 4 en OCS v1.0 22.4.93 PAL EU

Luckily I have another .ipf set which is this one:

... 1885 Flashback 4 en OCS Delphine Collection PAL EU

Off to try again...

;)

Adderly 10 April 2006 21:38

My investigation so far:

all original SPS/IPF versions (de,fr,en) have on disk#1:
data/frcine.txt: Fr language
read.me: Fr or de or en language info

->seems if we have an english data/frcine.txt is must be the Ministry translation hack!

Hi DamienD,
if i'm right the Genetix "crack" is identical with the one from Interpol!

Maybe the f$%ked up text is because it should illustrate the defect CPU for that mission! Can this be the reason????

demoniac 10 April 2006 22:15

You meant [x En Ministry], not [tr En Ministry] right?

I seem to remember seeing that screen on the A500 when it came out.

Wow, Adderly that's a lot of research you've done :bowdown

Nice therory about the f$%ked up text... You are going to find what I'm about to write very, very interesting then!!! Using the .ipf set 1885 Flashback 4 en OCS Delphine Collection PAL EU:

Inserted the .ipf Disk 1, it loaded for a bit and then asked for Disk 1 again. Inserted the [cr Genetix] Disk 1. It loaded for a bit and then asked for Disk 2. Inserted .ipf Disk 2 again. This time I was shown the cutscene in English ;)

Got to Mission 1, went to take a look at the job specification and I was asked for Disk 1 again... Went through the above scenario i.e. Disk 1 .ipf, Disk 1 [cr Genetix], Disk 2 .ipf and then continued.

Finished Mission 1 but before seeing the mission successful screen I was asked for Disk 1 again... Went through the same scenario again i.e. Disk 1 .ipf, Disk 1 [cr Genetix], Disk 2 .ipf and then continued.

Got to Mission 2, went to take a look at the job specification, same disk swapping scenerio...

Finished Mission 2 but before seeing the mission successful screen I was asked for Disk 1 again... Same disk swapping scenerio...

Got to Mission 3, went to take a look at the job specification, same disk swapping scenerio...

Finished Mission 3 but before seeing the mission successful screen I was asked for Disk 1 again... Same disk swapping scenerio...

Got to Mission 4, went to take a look at the job specification, same disk swapping scenerio...

After all the disk swapping, I finally was up to the part I'd been waiting for :shocked :shocked :shocked

Same f$%ked up text (see attached screen shot). This supports your theory that this is how it's supposed to be :agree

...end of testing, phew...

You can mark these sets as fully working as I think the very minor graphic "bug" on Level 7 is probably in all versions and not part of a bad crack:

... [cr Interpol]
... [cr Genetix]

:crazy

Adderly 10 April 2006 22:42

Damien, your played the game to the end, it's only fair that you mark them as verified good dumps! :agree

I would only mark [cr Interpol] as 100% working / verified as I haven't played the [cr Genetix] all the way through :agree

I'm getting confused w/ another nomenclature tool, where x = translation. I think [tr] looks too much like [t].

Adderly 11 April 2006 01:07

You are right, trainer and translation both could be meant by [tr] :crazy
I've read on the Tosec site that new flags are planned... :great

BippyM 11 April 2006 01:12

tr means translated
t means trained

Adderly 11 April 2006 01:27

yes i know, but it's confusing if you are not a Tosec insider. As i started to learn Tosec renaming it was very difficult for me and the tr flag is very seldom. I still need to check the Tosec doks for some cases (or ask idoru ;))
