OK, but if it is just a "generic loader, which is identical for all P96 drivers" how are Brian King and/or Cloanto able to claim copyright on it?

The generic loader is Devs/Monitors/uaegfx.

But ThoR is talking about Libs/Picasso96/uaegfx.card.

@ThoR: AFAIK WinUAE has uaegfx.card built in now. There shouln't be any copyright issues any more. Just copy the p96 file to Devs/Monitors with the right tool type and that's it. No need to distribute uaegfx.card.

In addition uaegfx.card "integrated into WinUAE" is also more up-to-date than existing file versions.

Hi Thomas, my workbench is 1024x768x16. The picture I opened with multiview on a separate screen was the OS3.9 backdrop image of the same size. But anyway, I want to try again on a clean install - there are some software issues that I have we could talk about in private message if you want, but otherwise I will see if it works on a new install of AmigaOS.

Thanks
Darren

Yes. Only "generic loader" needed. uaegfx.card is not used even if it exist since WinUAE 1.5.0.

I see, that's why I wanted to take it to private message.

are iComp the only ones selling P96 or can it be bought from some other retailer who uses PayPal?

E-Penguin 29 October 2020 11:33

only from iComp via their web store. Luckily the quality of the hardware is better than that of their online commerce software

Indeed, the fact that you have to be logged in to even see the product in their store...serves what purpose exactly?

Does anyone know if there is a list of cards that support screen dragging?

Pretty much everything that is in the archive except the CVisionPPC because the Permedia2 chip does not support it. So this makes the following:

- CyberVision
- PicassoII
- Omnibus
- Pixel64
- cvision3d
- Picasso IV
- Piccolo
- Domino
- GVP Spectrum
- Altais/Retina
- RetinaBLT
- PiccoloSD64
- Merlin
- Graffity

The GBAPII++ card, even though the driver is not part of the P96 distribution, also supports screen dragging due to the chip driver it is build on. Thus, it is really the chip driver (and not the card) that has to support screen dragging.

The UAE built-in graphics card emulation also supports screen dragging.

Thanks Thomas!

I have a Z3 Cybervision 64/3D. Dragging is not working for me. I'll do some testing this weekend.

Did you read the FAQ? Which Os version? Yes, this is tested.

Excellent; I was about to ask just this on A1k :)

Any VA2000 users here know how to get a hold of Lucas (MNT) to see if he can add screen dragging support for this new P96 version?

Thomas Richter 30 October 2020 16:43

It's quite obvious: Go to his shop, the email is right there at the bottom of the page.
