I'll try to continue with 68020 timing improvements later this summer. Maybe.. Only 68020 CE mode and CD32 MPEG emulation remaining...

FYI, a list of AGA demos with potential small problems when running in current WinUAE A1200 CE mode:

(forgot what was the problem for each demo, so for now there is only a list)

Disaster-PEASOUP.LHA -> Pea Soup / Disaster
EVACUE-Nil -> Nil / Evacue
ModelDesign_-_NeoTokyo2094_(0494_AgA).ADF -> Neo Tokyo 2094 / Model Design
Oxygene-Cuzco -> Cuzco / Oxygene
Passion-AlienDream -> Alien Dream / Passion
SAINTS-DestinationBBS -> Destination BBS Intro / Saints
TBL-PHCK.EXE -> Phucker / The Black Lotus

EDIT: In adition...
The Saturne Day / Apex

SaphirJD 15 June 2014 19:43

After checking each one in quickly warp mode, I only see obvious problem in first demo, others appears to only have usual overscan bugs and inaccurate 3d-calculations.

Of course, if the same happens on a real Amiga then no problem !!! :) (see some examples below)

@amilo3438, can I just say a huge thank you, I had a nag at you early on but you have stuck to your guns and bug tested so many demo's resulting in WinUAE being better and better.

You truly deserve a mention in the help files as a credit.....Hugely deserved...

I'm not sure about that, I do not fix problems, rather than just finding and inform ... so there's no need for that.

But in any case is comfortable when you hear that someone from users recognize your efforts, so thank you very much for that.

Sooner or later progress would occurred, the difference is just that I did not have the patience to wait anymore to happen. ;)

Mclane 24 June 2014 13:14

Well at first I thought you were being too cocky but you have sat down and done something that is both time consuming and incredibly boring and tested hundreds of games and trust me I do know what that's like. Its ok for the first few and then the constant repetition turns to boredom, its very hard to convince yourself to carry on.

But you did and do deserve that credit..

By identifying emulation bugs you have helped Toni improve WinUAE a LOT, sure he does the technical bit but only because you did the hard work of finding the issues.

Well done and thank you to you both for making Winuae even better...

But one correction, I did not tested hundreds of games (I do not care a lot about games), only demos (>12000, or more, I stopped to count) ... but of course, if demos works fine then games should work fine also. :)

Yeah, more or less, thanks again on kind words.

p.s.
Just one note: I am not done it for the sake of fame ... just a pure pleasure! (the glory belongs to all who have contributed so far)

As I said previously, I don't have plain fast RAM expansions for A1200. Can't test.

Ok, these are just for info then. (but also there are already plenty those for basic A1200 config. still waiting to be checked/confirmed ... see on 1st page) :)

That kind of right border bug emulation is quite new (few versions ago there was no gap) but unfortunately it is correct.

Ship glitch does not happen, probably the usual cause again.

(and try to list less boring demos..)

Quote:

Passion-AlienDream -> Alien Dream / Passion
Both A1200 confirmed.

Quote:

SAINTS-DestinationBBS -> Destination BBS Intro / Saints
Not confirmed but demo also runs slightly slower on real A1200 so the usual CPU timing.

Quote:

TBL-PHCK.EXE -> Phucker / The Black Lotus
A1200 confirmed. (Those kind of vector object bugs are perfectly normal, limited accuracy when using integers)

Confirmed (both glitches) but glitch pixel pattern isn't 100% identical.

Ship does glitches, just save state before earth part. (yes, it happens really fast)(another example on pic below)

I meant it does not glitch on real A1200. (and reason why it does not was included). Minimal answers only!

Uses some strange programmed display mode that is sort of PAL compatible but also sets BEAMCON0 bits that no one has set previously ("DUAL" bit which apparently does something strange).

It looks even worse in older versions.

A1200 confirmed. (Finally glitch that looks like CPU problem but is actually correct behavior! Not 100% identical glitch but mostly same and in same positions)

White bar in "Shade cluster" part is fixed. (Lots of requirements to trigger it: AGA + at least 1 sprite in horizontal border + bitplane active in same scanline + BPLCON4 XOR bits non-zero)

... and seems "Silicon Gfx 2 (Demo) by Wfmh" problem also !

(and these are just the first results of the hard work that follows) :)
