This is pretty good for a rev5. Remember that the Alpha firmware pushes these CPUs to the absolute limit, in fact you will never be able to overclock a Rev1 at all with it.

I have a rev1 (I assume) and the alpha firmware, and I've run it 62 MHz. It was also correspondingly faster compared to 50 MHz, I confirmed this when doing optimizing and measurements recently on a project (reSID-port).

There is simply no way to achieve this with the original Cpuspeed command, so you must be using an updated one.

Well the screen shots above are from me using the CPU command that existed before the very latest one.

May be it isn't the original, there is no way of me telling other than size. The latest one is 20660 bytes. The old one I have is 13244 bytes.

This was my fault for calling the older one the "original" apologies for that.

This could have been an amazing way around it for LC only users but whilst a nice idea in principle it doesn't really work to well. I do love that in Amiga land though people always find ways around stuff, it's a credit to the scene I guess.

So looks like I might be going back to my full Rev6 060 after I finish taking the LC for a joyride :laughing

On the LC you probably want to try the 040 versions that only use the FPU at places where the original Build engine did. That being said you probably won't get a very good performance either way in those games until someone discovers a way to do 32-bit fixed point math quickly on an 060LC.

pipper 17 January 2023 09:37

Breathless may have the code you’d need on an 060LC: https://github.com/mheyer32/Breathle...nti/MulDiv64.i

BSzili 24 January 2023 19:07

Thanks I'll check these out! Besides the fixed point math, there's also the krecip bit twiddling hack:

I have had some TF1260 owners ask me how to put the ehide.device into a custom rom, so I have done a quick how to guide below for doing a custom 3.2 and 3.1 rom.

Edit**
you must download latest Versions of Remus and Romspilt for adding ehide.device to OS 3.2.1 , link below
http://www.doobreynet.co.uk/beta/index.html

1. Grab your 3.2 rom file from either your OS 3.2 disk or use `transrom` to grab it from your Amiga
2 Start Romsplit and pick your grabbed 3.2 file and click extract, then save the extracted modules to a folder of your choice.
3. Start Remus , leave the default settings as they are, click on the `Rom Contents` tab then on the right window find and load the 3.2 modules you just saved.
4. using your mouse click and select all the modules and drag them all to the left Build window.
5. Now back to the right window and search for the ehide.device
6. Now drag the ehide.device into the left window, make sure you put it at the bottom of the Build list.( If doing a custom 3.1 rom, you must remove the Workbench.library so there is enough space for the ehide.device and put the Workbench.library into the Libs dir on the System drive otherwise it will not work).

7, Go to the top of the Remus window and in the first dropdown select `Compile`, it will say done in the Build window if successful.

8. So you now have a 512k custom rom, test it in Winuae to see it works. if yes then you are ready to process it for burning to Two eproms
9. using a program like `Epromhexxer` or cartman you need to Spilt the file into two files so `Split Word`( wordwise) will then give you two 256k files ( LO- HI ),you then need to Concatenate both files, basically this means `Double` (select DOUBLE in Epromhexxer) each file so it is 512k, so select each 256k file and concatenate ( Double) it to 512k.

10, you now have two 512k files,so all you need to do now is `Byteswap` each file ( Use Byteswap2 in Epromhexxer) so they can be flashed onto two eproms and used in a real Amiga.

** NOTE
This guide is for rom 3.2, if you are doing a custom 3.1 then `REMOVE` the Workbench.library from the build List, make sure that you then manually replace the Workbench.library back into Libs on the System disk otherwise it will not work

Download Workbench Library here:
http://www.amigaforever.com/classic/download/

Download EpromHexxer here

Does this guide still work if trying to include eide.device in a 3.2.2 Rom considering Remus and RomSplit have yet to be updated?

Jope 11 March 2023 21:17

You'll have to wait for the tools to be updated.

wiz12 11 March 2023 23:46

Even when they are updated, I don't think eide.device fit into the 3.2.2 Rom like it did with the previous, in that case what are the options?

are you sure it's the 2nd update with SN1000 as I couldn't get my Rev1 overclocked at all but with the 1 firmware update I was running a very stable and cool 62.5Mhz.

Sadly I couldn't get my Rev5 working stable at all with anything in the 60's and 50's:shocked...only 50 made it happy..here's some SysSpeed numbers with my Rev.5 comparing them to my CS-MKIII (Rev.1) in my 4000..numbers are very good in comparison but interestingly the updated Starstruck demo (2018) timing is way off on my TF1260 and spot on with CS-MKIII

I have this one: tf1260r1_2021_12_17_1742_4514ac9_alpha.zip
Are there some others as well?

Chucky 12 March 2023 08:51

if you go by MHz then "62Mhz" would be faster. BUUUT the newer firmware with almost double chipmemspeed would be faster at 50MHz anyway..

1MB ROM option?

supaduper 12 March 2023 10:14

As the guys said above just make a 1mb rom and that will solve your no room problem, CRG did a A1200 ehide 1mb how to here

I checked:
Attachment 78316

Seems to be SN1000 running at 60 MHz.

EDIT: 62.5 MHz also works.

klx300r 12 March 2023 17:54

@ koobo

If it's running stable you have a Unicorn Rev.1 :great:agree

Can you please use SysSpeed & post your results here

vk3heg 13 March 2023 12:23

Does anyone making/selling the TF1260 have a 256Mb version?

Chucky 13 March 2023 18:17

128MB is max!

Bummer!. Is that a firmware or board layout/space limit?
