watch this video for all info you need. May be skip to 13:00 for the lag testing and then examples that follow. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fmfR0XI5czI scroll down to where it says "GBS Control" http://github.com/ramapcsx2/gbs-control |
So the BenQ arrived today. Will give it a go on Friday with the OSSC.
@MrClump, would you mind giving me your settings? Surely now I've the same monitor as you it should all match up the same. I bet it doesn't but it will be a good starting point. Thanks in advance :) |

This is for DBLPAL @ 640 x 512, no overscan and no VGAONLY driver. I am also assuming you are directly connecting the OSSC to the monitor's DVI port with an HDMI to DVI cable, don't put anything in between. In Output opt. set 480p/576p proc to Passrthru before you start, that'll give you a crappy image but will at least allow you to be sure your resolution settings on the Amiga are correct. You should end up with a squished and blurry image. Then dial in these settings. Output Options 480p/576p proc Line2x Line 2x Mode - Generic 4:3 Sampling Opt Allow TVP HPLL2x - ON Allow upsample2x - ON Adv. timing (Should show 640x512 as the profile) H.samplerate - 1040 H.s.rate frac - .00 H.synclen - 255 H.backporch - 194 H.active - 640 V.synclen - 1 V.backporch - 34 V.active - 512 Sampling phase - 213 (yours will likely need to be different) In Video in proc. I did then tweak the three colour gains to tweak the white balance, and I also boosted the Pre-ADC gain a bit for a punchier image. That's all down to personal preference though. All other settings are default. On the monitors own settings I found that a sharpness of 4 gives me the most pleasing balance of being sharp without haloing around high contrast edges, but again that's personal preference. If that works I'll give you my low res settings. Good luck! |

Been using OSSC (v1.6) for a couple of months now with my most used Amiga (A1200). (1.7 was released just weeks after I bought 1.6)
Now, I have settings that make WB look pretty nice in 640x512 without any flicker. Also, most games work just fine.. But there are some (mostly older) applications that I simply can't get to work properly. For example, Deluxe Paint V opens just fine in 640x512 and looks good, but when I tried to run Deluxe Paint III the other day, no matter what screen I select (even 640x512) it just wont look right. Either the scaling is ignored or its way too large and no matter how much I tweak the settings in OSSC I can't seem to get the entire screen visible (about 10-20 pixels on the far right wont show up, they get cut of as if the screen isn't drawn beyond this point). Is there something fishy with the way older progs opened up screens on Amiga that confuses OSSC? |
When a game or demo changes from 313-p to 625-i the image starts to flicker a lot on the monitor.
Any ideas on how to prevent that? Or on some settings changes for the OSSC? Currently using PAL:HiRes (724x284), settings suggested in first post. |
