I can't get AROS to speak to my sound device. I don't suppose anyone has had the same issue? The sound device is a SIGMATEL STAC 92XX C-Major HD Audio, v.5.10.0.5515_RC22-WHQL, A11.

AMIGASYSTEM 18 March 2018 12:10

AROS 68k or AROS x86?

Overlord 18 March 2018 12:42

AROS x86. Everything else works fine, just no sound. On a windows laptop I'd have updated the drivers, but obviously that's not going to work.

AMIGASYSTEM 18 March 2018 12:51

If you are using the PC directly with AROS the Driver Audio PC they are not used, verification HERE if your Audio Chip is supported, for more information ask HERE

If you are running AROS on Virtual Machine then it must work without problems

Overlord 18 March 2018 13:03

Ah, okay. I'll get myself a cheap, refurb PC that's on the list. It runs like lightning even on an old PC. Thanks for the help.

Excellent videos. :)

Doesn't running it as a virtual machine affect performance?

AMIGASYSTEM 18 March 2018 19:49

It is not fast enough, the only problem is that you can not take advantage of the 3D graphics, per il resto tutto funziona perfettamente, for the rest everything works perfectly.

Okay, grazie mille. It's still useful for me without the sound until I get a supported computer.

Semi-custom UEFI can be geared towards AMD or Intel x86 hardware.

AMD and Intel supply the CPU firmware updates to motherboard manufacturers and large PC OEMs.

Amiga's Kickstart ROM in relation to AROS replacement ROM topic, this is like ReactOS core components built into UEFI or ReactOS core replaces UEFI.

PC BIOS vendors have a clear area of reasonability and it doesn't step on Microsoft's turf.

101% support here too and as soon as I see an emulator default to AROS KS I know something is wrong (!!) and I have to put one of my many KS images from one of my many images and purchased licenses :)
